So as you might be able to tell from the packaging of the DVDs, these seem to be standalone DVDs you could purchase from say, a local convenience store.  Each DVD contains one episode that's either 50 mins. (Collection Box 1) or 60 mins. (Collection Box 2) as well as, get this...

...a piece of lemon gum in each.

Japan? Have we mentioned lately how weird you are?

So what do you guys think?  Convenience store packaging, cheap DVDs, and a piece of gum is the way of the future?  (Is this our sign that DVDs are slowly becoming obsolete?)

Hard to imagine, but recently the practice of sticking gum in with the cards is making a comeback again. I imagine an actual baseball card tastes better.

I'm pretty sure they can't sell things like this in a convenience store unless it contains some sort of food product. That's why they include the gum.

That's the first thing that came to mind was those old baseball cards.

Am I seeing this right?  They're selling for around $20 for some gum & a DVD w/ a single episode?  Kinda overpriced, but most anime DVDs are overpriced in japan.  I wonder what episode is on each DVD(the 1st one is obviously Kaitou Kid related).
