I have to say so far this case is already better than the last 4 (not counting AOs as actual cases). I loved watching Yamamura being the unlikely voice of reason vs. Ran's fear of supernatural stuff. And the Kappa...actually was kinda creepy. I will say they need to murder the "HAR HAR SOMETHING FUNNY" 5 second piece of music like right now, because it is really annoying.

This reminds me of another case for some reason. Not exactly sure which one...

it's not the same one, but their use of a similar jingle for half the stuff Eisuke did was part of why I dislike him too, it's basically the anime version of a bad laugh track

anyway, maybe it's just because I'm not a huge fan of kappas anyway, but this case is still sub-par when compared to others, imo.

I mean Lombre is identical to certain animal like kappa in my opinion, not about pokemon type, like Butterfree is butterfly, Horsea, Seadra, Kingdra are sea horse, Ho-oh is a legendary creature phoenix. And Ludicolo's chinese name had a word kappa in Chinese, if you ever watched Pokemon Chinese version, you'll understand.

the funniest part of this episode was after they visited the grave site, the fat dude who was a classmate of the child was randomly in the car.  I was like "lol wtf, mooch rides much?"

Also, I think that the reporter seem's pretty fishy...He hates digital things, yet he has a laptop.  Hmm..there's plenty of substitutes for a laptop for a reporter if he truly is a luddite.

BTW, is it safe to say that Ran has a very low IQ if she's 17 years old and fails to realize that ghosts don't exist?  I mean, she's the daughter and best friends of detectives; her whole hyping life revolves around mystery cases that are, always, ALWAYS solved by reason and logic.  Plus, there are multiple times when she has already been scared of ghosts, but they have always been debunked as nothing but some sort of trick.

you say this, but then at the same time using that argument of things that can't exist, you could say "Ran's IQ must be low if she's ever suspicious that a high school student could shrink into an elementary school student".
