The character that briefly appeared in the Chinatown Deja Vu case named Hama Mike was not in the manga. In fact, he only appeared to help advertise a japanese tv show with the character, based off of the fictional American detective character Mike Hammer.

At the end of each manga case, Conan appears in a little square so you always know when the story arch is finished. :P

*Akai's name comes from the Mobile Suit Gundam character Char Aznable, whose nickname was the "Red (Akai) Comet", and Char's voice actor Shuichi Ikeda (who is also Akai's voice actor). Additionally, his alias, Dai Moroboshi, comes from Char's real name, Casval Rem Deikun (sounds like Dai-kun in Japanese). Moroboshi can also mean falling star, another possible allusion to Red Comet.

*Akai's voice actor, Shuichi Ikeda, is the real-life husband of Akemi Miyano's voice actress, Sakiko Tamagawa.

detective conan was later named Case Closed in the english dub because of cpyrights on the name "CONAN" with conan the barbarian and other shows with that paricular irish name (conan is an irish name meaning little wolf)

I say the most obvious one is how Conan looks in the very first volume/episode as opposed to later volumes/episodes like volume 43, or episode 350's. It surely makes me wonder whether it is Gosho simply being inconsistent or the character actually ageing. In fact, the only sense of time I could perceive from the manga/animé is probably that it had not been two full year yet from Shinichi's shrinking till, say, the Chinese  Deja Vu.

That's just art evolution.  He became more skilled and gained different assistants along the way.  I doubt it was intentional in the way you're thinking.  Heck, compare early Magic Kaito art to current day.

Now I know why I don't watch Doraemon - there's no Ai! And Agasa can grant wishes? Wowsers!

I wouldn't be surprised if either Gosho did that on purpose or if Doraemon just made that type of group of kids having adventures as a cliche that is used all the time.

I am guessing that is kind of cliche in Japaness amime I mean it is kind of common to have a fat kid, thin nerd kid and glasses kid.

In most of the cases, after the culprit accused by Conan, he/she just regrets over the things in the past and confesses and doesn't usually try to escape or continue to lie. There are exceptions but most of the cases ends with the murderer regrets. Sometimes i thought of myself "oh you're LUCKY that he/she confessed i bet you didn't have the evidence Conan" . That's just me.

Conan kicks the ass of the culprit psychologically : )
