FBI or CIA?

Postby Laurell » December 6th, 2010, 7:26 am

In the DC World, the Japanese police have no knowledge about the BO. So, two factions are doing the work of investigating this sinister organization which has been operating for half a decade - the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Central Intelligence Agency. We knew how the FBI got involved in this series and also later, the CIA.

Now, what's bothering me is the difference between the two organizations. FBI is already enough. But why bring the CIA? Which is superior and which is not? Which has a wider reach?

The CIA and FBI have very different approaches, so I wouldn't say that one is necessarily greater than the other.  The CIA mainly deals in espionage, while the FBI is much more overt in what they do.

As for them being "brought in", I don't think that's so much the case as they involved themselves.

I'm sure someone else can expand more on this.

The FBI deals with internal issues, where as the CIA works outside the US.

I understand the point of the FBI getting involved due to Vermouth's case in US.
I am wondering what specific thing did the BO do to involve the CIA - specifically Ethan and Hidemi Hondou - in this royal rumble.

The CIA will deal with anything that can possibly threatening the US!

This made me think it's like:
CIA Agent 1: Hey, there is an organization called BO in Japan!
CIA Agent 2: Really? Let's check it out!

Hope it's not like that. BTW, is the BO a threat in the US? Or is it only Gosho who knows the only reason why the CIA was involved?

Mind you, the BO has a long existing plan, which needs lots of money and involves many rich people and politician.

Since the BO worked in the US too, I mean Vermouth probably wans't there for fun, it is natural if they are targeted by the CIA. Maybe they know more about the BO's plan, which must be a grandiouse thing.

IF (IF) BO's plan is to invent the pill to extend the human life for a longer period, naturally the US needs to be cautious. Not to mention that the BO is involved in many things, and the key here is money and power. If they have both, they need to be feared.

The CIA is investigating what is BO's intention(if they do't know it), because they can see that they are like a small(or large?) maffia, they have weapons, money and powerful people on their side. And this is a threat.

However, what made me wonder is why the CIA and the FBI are not working together?
They have the same purpose, the same enemy and their origin is the same continent. I do not understand the reason why they are working individually and not together.

CIA and FBI don't get along very well, to say the least. Or so that's what people say.

I think the BO is international. So not just active in japan, but also in the USA. I also think they are active in other countries. Since Gin said he got his car in Germany, it's possible they are active in Europe too (or other countries).

Well, FBI and CIA are separate agencies. They investigate the BO in secret, meaning they wouldn't know the other agency is also investigating them (since they didn't know Kir is a spy)
You can also see it with the police. They usually don't want help from other police departments. They would never ask for help themselves. They usually only work together when needed (like movie 13, where there were murders in different places around japan)

Gib bought his car in Germany because it's a Porsche, doesn't necessarily mean anything.

But I do think, that it's entirely possible that the BO is also active in the UK, Germany, and France.

But how I remembered it, it sounded like he was in the country there and bought it then. Not because it's a Porsche. But that's just interpreting it :x Since the info that the Porsche is from Germany isn't necessary actually. It would have been enough to say it's a Porsche and a rare car.

The BO strikes me as the kind of organization that probably works internationally, though probably on a smaller scale than what they get up to in their "home" country. Nevertheless, working internationally, on whatever scale, could make them a valid threat to the US, hence the CIA's involvement. The FBI seem to be involved because of crimes committed within the US. (I'm surprised the Secret Service hasn't gotten in on this. Or if they have, they're being more subtle than the Americans, which admittedly is usually the case.)

Well, if Subaru≠Shuichi then I wouldn't say it's completely unthinkable that he is with the Secret Service. He just feels British for me. He's ginger, for God's sake. ::)
And Elena Miyano is/was British.
The London chapter might also come into this. Eventually.

As to Germany and France: No evidence whatsoever, they just seem like countries Gosho is interested in and might therefore involve them.
