i don't think it's a casual thing,cause haibara was really surprised!(the way gosho put this scene make me feel that it could be an important thing for the story,not a small detail)!

Actually aside from Kaito's birthday, Hakuba's birthday, and (kinda) Aoko's birthday Gosho never assigned anyone else birthdays.
Shinichi's birthday was assigned by the anime movie people, "Angel day" isn't Ran's birthday but just a Ran fanart event made by fans. "Edogawa Conan day" is right after it and goes on for a few days :].
With that said Haibara day is coming up on the 18th!
