I like that they reanimated that post-Shirigami-sama scene. I still have nightmares about the original episode's animation. But at least that case they spent 2 1/2 one hour specials on hasn't been completely ignored. (hell, I'm glad Ran hasn't been completely ignored again from Gosho (now we need more Haibara too)) It is decent story stuff and any use of continuity is a plus.

However, the case is...

way too obvious. Let me guess, the victim is actually the real Rooster Man and the guy that Sonoko didn't accuse is someone who wanted revenge on him for ruining his life etc. I mean at least I don't know the relevence of any of the clues but still...

I read the rest of this case on manga and it was soooooooooo boring

AOs are getting much better than Manga cases, that's a good sign

I don't know which AOs you could possibly be talking about. The recent ones weren't all that good. My hopes for the upcoming two episodes are fairly high though.
