I now know what I disliked above all in this movie (even more than the absurd action scenes) : the fan-service, which wasn't even subtle.

you mean that cramming every character possible into a movie, even when a number of the characters have no reason to be there, is bad? that is an outrageous claim sir.

Has it been explained why Megure changes the color of his suit in the movies?

Yes ! And it's even worse when you put these characters in pointless and predictable situations, such as the Kaito-Ran kiss scene, just to exhilarate the fans.  :-X

except I explained in the first post why the Kaito and Ran stuff was cool and different? Complaining about Kogoro and Ai doing nothing or the pointlessness of the Tokyo Police being there (especially considering the characters from the intro could have done the same thing probably?) makes more sense.

you didn't actually explain why, you just said that it, "was really clever and made this part of the story far more interesting than I expected." that is not explaining why.

The Kaito-Ran stuff wouldn't have annoyed me as much if the movie actually had had a good mystery (or a mystery at all, in fact). The thing is, I feel like the producers use that kind of material to attract the fans (business is business) but don't bother to build a decent plot around it. I felt the same way concerning Movie 13 and the BO, except that one actually had some sort of mystery. Action scenes, ok, romance scenes, why not ? But I'd rather them not taking out the mystery, the root of detective conan, when doing that.

Admittedly true but I thought it was obvious. A twist on what already was a cool story idea (that I could have seen actually happening even in the manga) in "Ran sees Kid without disguise and thinks he is Shinichi (like OVA 10 but far more interesting)" except with the twist of having Kid have Ran believe he is Shinichi. From Ran's perspective it actually fits pretty well, especially since presumably Kaito became Kaito Kid and Shinichi shrunk around the same time.

Seriously, whenever I see him doing something very impressive I ask myself 'how the heck does he know how to do that?' And then I'm like 'Oh, Hawaii.'

I'm gonna rewatch the movie on Halloween. ;D

I really loved the Movie (not to become my fav) but it had a good storyline, specially the "Hey Ran, you don´t know the true identity of KID yet?" and some cool story twists. Also, Conan´s ingenuity against the terrorists was incredible. KID+Conan=awesomeness. Skateboarding inside the airship was amazing too. And a couple of more things.

Although, Kogoro not appearing much ... well, didn´t like that much and the fact that no machinegun bullets reached Conan was somewhat not so good.

Guess this is all I can think right now.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the extra Soccer ball Conan had!!!?? He used it up on the first "Boss" then he managed to inflate another one for the end!? I know he probably could have reloaded it but at that time everyone (including Conan) thought the ordeal was over. He couldn't possible reload the belt, if he did why not reload the dart watch too?

The best part was Conan getting thrown out

Hmmm... Really? I dunno about that...

This movie was designed to appeal to a very particular portion of the fanbase and it looks like it definitely succeeded at that. Enjoy, everyone--don't forget to watch MF4 again to get the full scope of things. :-*
