Actually, I'm the one who said that............only not exactly as you pointed it out. (unless there is a post by Eve which I have missed)

As for the language thing, I just always felt that he only knew Japanese and English fluently, and about other languages, only not fluent. For instance, I know some Spanish, but, I'm not fluent. I can't hold a conversation in Spanish (not too much, anyway). I know some German words and some French phrases too, but not fluent in either. That kind of thing. That's how I view Shinichi...knowing some of other languages, but not fluent in them.

I don't think he really speaks French or Italian, at least it hasn't been confirmed.
Yusaku speaking Portuguese doesn't seem likely either, he probably just spoke English with the guy.
As far as the movies are concernec:
He doesn't seem to speak Spanish (Movie 11)
IF he can read the Russian alphabet, then he's not proficient. The had Sergey type Волшебник конца века.

Dus wrote:Why not? He's more likely to understand English than Japanese.

If I were to meet someone from Brazil, I'd try speaking English with them.Dus wrote:Yeah, but Yusaku doesn't.If I were to meet someone from Brazil, I'd try speaking English with them.
