We can't hold up the things that go on in this show and directly compare them to reality. However that aside the case where Shizuka shows up pretty much verifies their ability to travel to and from Tokyo

I don't read the manga, so all my spoiler boxes are old episodes which I'm pretty sure (not 100%) that Conia has seen 'em.

But...don't Heiji and Kazuha usually goes places during the day?  Or stay with people that their parents know?  I can only think of a few exceptions.  Also, I'm sure both parents realize how clueless Heiji is.  I don't think they'd be worried about him doing anything inappropriate.  I'd be more worried he would forget my daughter some place.

I think (from what Abs. stated) that Kazuha is alive... definitely. I'm not sure what the manga said, and don't post it. But It's likely she's in the story.

I've come to terms with the fact that of Heiji and Kazuha get together in an official manner it will be because Kazuha will get sick of waiting and just come out with (much attributed to prompting for Ran)
