"the editors fault" excuse has been overdone for years. From what I've read, it's just as often a mangaka's ego gets in the way. While I agree the lack of blood and maybe some use of what stories happen when is the editors, the neverending slow pace of the series and the vintage Gosho stories is so blatantly because Gosho has a (justified) ego, like a lot of people with his level of success.
Maybe, just MAYBE it's the reason the Detective Boys are overdone, but Kishimoto's favorite character is Sasuke so it isn't like all good mangaka have good taste in characters all the time either.
IT'S SO WONDERFUL!!!! (yeah i finished Baccano! today... and im now slightly obsessed with rather gory anime... Higurashi when they cry or berserk next!)
