Oh... wow...

Wait: why is it okay to make the movies all bloody yet not the manga chapters and the anime? Lately, it's all been cyanide poisoning!

When they kill or hurt someone, pretty much (Akai, Akemi, the guy in movie 5, the guy who commited suicide in the Clash of red & black arc...).

I wouldn't be surprised that the reduction of the amount of blood is a demand from the editors. Mangakas (especially successful ones) don't have as much freedom as people expect them to. Gosho most likely cannot decide alone to end this series.

Spoiler: Might contain minor manga spoilers
If you look at the manga sales, DC is the only Shounen Sunday one that makes it into the top 20. Shounen Sunday's circulation and it's sales have decreased a lot in the 2000s (2.02 million circulated in 2000, 684 462 do today) and the magasine basically relies a lot on DC.

Besides, if you look at the characters' appearances in the files, you'll notice a certain pattern : DB appear every 2 or 3 case which explains the stupid Chiba 2 files case between the 2 long cases of the year (they must be in each volume to target the young audience), Heiji and Kazuha usually appear once a year in spring, BO in summer or in winter (this year, they most likely were replaced by the London Case), Sonoko in autumn, same goes for Kaito Kid (he appeared in an extra case this year in april because of the film though)...

This shows that Gosho can't just put 50 BO files like that randomly. One can accuse him of milking out as much as he can, but he surely isn't the only one responsible. In fact, fans might not get an end one day (if Shounen Sunday is no longer published for example).

I doubt he really thinks about those things.

Oh... well... that's depressing.

@Wakari: But why would the editors want less blood? Unless they want to appeal to a younger demographic.

Most likely. I just can't imagine a guy who drew this (http://s2-b.animea-server.net/70%2F1_CMCGA%2FDetective%20Conan%20v01%20file01%20022.jpg) spontaneously reduce the amount of blood in his own manga without being told to. Well, that's just my point of view.

^ So Viz did censor it, eh.(I read the first chapter on their Shonen Sunday site).

Well, that too, is depressing then...

Well, considering it's in the general discussion board, I would say that all of the pictures have to be from DC.
