Smallest Mistake

Whats the smallest mistake a criminal has made? Whether it was leaving a small piece of evidence or saying something that caught Conan's attention etc. Ive been think about this for a while now, what do you guys think?

It's prety much the same all the Episodes, from leave something as small as a piece of glass of about 1 mm to say something or look at something, or for example don't sit because he was hiding something in his leg.

Or leave mark or traces of the tric that he used (like some scratch on the walls everytime that someone use a string to make a trick to kill someone)

I was refering to the case that Eri and Yukiko meet in the house of a Rich Man who gets shot, the case in wich Kogoro was left tied up in the Detective Agency.

Smallest mistake ALL criminals in DC have made is not saying the following:
"I want my lawyer"

Seriously, so many episodes have circumstantial evidence that any year one law student would get thrown out and thus give the criminal a walk.
Not saying I want the killers to go free but they should mix it up. Make them put up a more believable fight than the usual "I found this evidence"-"OMG I'll tell youz everythingzz1111!"
Have one episode where the guy gets away with it though everyone knows he did it. See how ego-man deals with something like that. I say he becomes an obsessed stalker. Never resting until he puts that one criminal behind bars. .
