Really? I think at times, that when Ran is in danger he can get pretty overly protective of her. And don't forget him in the 2nd movie.

Agrees with Alicetama. Even when Kogoro is really baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad father, and his own daughter is always taking care of him, I think that he had made a wonderfull job since Eri went and now he knows that his daughter is big enough to live her own life, but of course, we all know that he's always saying that be carefull with men and that stuff ^^ examples: when Sonoko invited Ran to play tennis with a very shor skirt XD Even when he looks like the worst father ^^ I guess that is fine like  :D

(If someone asks why I wrote that much when all I want to say it was: agreed XD is because I'm bored and I want to write as much as I can LOL)

Works fine for me.

Kogoro has plenty of examples of being a bad father, but probably the best argument in favor of him being a good one is how Ran turned out.  He's gotta be at least alright.

True. He has his good points...even if he doesn't show it that often. At least Ran grew up to be a responsible girl despite his shortcomings. For me, he's pretty much a decent father.

Kogoro drink to much >:(, gamble to much :(, and screw up to much ::), but I really like the relationship he have with Ran, and, maybe is my imagination, but despiste the fact that Ran is a very responsable girl she have much of Kogoro character in her actions ;D, even they act in the same way in some situations, like in the wrestling episode, is fun how father and daugther enjoy together this sport :D.

Another thing, some people say that, some times, girls looking for boys that resembles her father, and, some times, Shinichi act just like Kogoro,  soooo ::) maybe, Ran really is a “Daddy´s girlâ€
