That's a fact, Jack!Jd- wrote:Fact: All of Conan will be fansubbed by the time FUNi dubs another episode of Conan.

I got it confirmed a long time ago that pretty much everything was done at around the exact same time. Most of the stuff was just waiting to be released. One can only assume that they improved as they went along, because starting with the Mist Goblin Murder Case is when the dub REALLY starts to improve.

They had the licensed episodes up to 130 dubbed by the end of 2004 or early 2005, but after a few years hiatus the VAs did do new work on some movies. Pretty sure movie 5 was dubbed years after episode 130.
It hasn't been years after 130 it was released not to long ago like last year.CarpetCrawler wrote:I think one of the problems was FUNi's mis-handling of the marketing. The show did well on [adult swim] for the 12-18 demographic, and they never really capitalized on it.
Kind dumb a top 20 show in any demographic was scorned by the TV execs. Especially since it was getting those ratings at 1AM. (We aren't just talking about top ratings for 1AM shows, folks, Case Closed episodes were repeatedly among the top 20 out of all shows broadcast in a week, meaning it got more 12-17 year old viewers than most shows broadcast in the afternoons, in prime time... etc... I guess no one really cared about the 12-17 demographic, though.)

The good news is you can keep up with Detective Conan through our releases of the Case Closed movies. Movies 1-5 are in stores now. Look for movie 6 later this winter.

They go on the internet and search them and find subbed episodes or chapters, but if you look up Case Closed, as it's known in America, you just seem to find what's already out in America. Not many people know it's actually Detective Conan so they don't really look for it. Or at least that's what I think
