Creepiest/scariest moment in the series?

Postby Brekclub85 » April 23rd, 2010, 9:51 pm

For me, it's the voice on the phone in the Cursed Mask case or the very first murder in the series (in the manga version only), showing blood SQUIRTING OUT OF WHAT USED TO BE SOME GUY"S NECK. A creepy as hell visual, I've wondered if Gosho had anymore gory ideas for murders, since the series is pretty tame now.

What do you guys think?

There are some pretty scary moments in DB cases (the start of Desperate Revival being the most memorable), but I would have to second 311 and 178 as the scariest moments. 311 was  probably the most intense of all, I've rewatched that many times. It's interesting that the recent BO cases (345, 425, Red and Black) haven't really had moments of terror/suspense, during 345 Conan+Jodie+Haibara+Ran are in trouble, but it hardly seems like they are helpless and I don't think anyone was fooled by 'Calvados'. During 425, Conan was never in physical danger, except for a few brief seconds when Gin ordered Kir and Chianti to shoot him and Mouri and during Red and Black... Conan was never in danger. Poor Camel (though I guess Conan was in trouble during the recent BO somewhat related bank robbery case).

For creepiest, Moonlight Sonata. That is easily the most disturbing case in the series (for me, I'm sure others would have different opinions).

"The energies of our system will decay; the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which has for a moment disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."

There've been plenty of pulse-racing moments... Moonlight Sonata was pretty sad and creepy. The Sunset Mansion case was also really freaky the first time I read it, when you thought they actually WERE starting to go a bit Battle Royale and start killing each other...

EZ, almost the whole Episode of the bandaged Man in the Mountain Villa, when they see him with their friend's head, when they find out the mutilated body, when Ran is attacked in the middle of the night.

I know eh, just the thought of a mutilated corpse hidden under your shirt knocking around and squirting blood as you run is so D8.

Seriously that guy has so many problems.

I don't know about creepy or scary but the ealier cases did get you more excited and into the episode.
I guess it was how gruesome the murders were(decapitated head inside a shirt, a tortured man with a punctured lung, the blood..oh the blood) combine with how "new" each mystery felt.

That one.

Also, when the DB were being stalked in the Library Murder Case...they had some really creepy shots of the creepy guy creepily watching them from behind.

I love how many "creepy"s there are in this sentence.
