Detective Conan would obviously be one of the internets favorites if everyone knew that the BO actually existed.

Anime fans today have no clue on how much thrill,action and suspense Black Organization episodes contain.
They aren't even aware of Detective Conan's sheer number of insane plot twists.

Me: Detective Conan 345 killed me!
Anime Fan: Ewww... Conan's for kids
Me: Uhmmm have you even watched Conan?
Anime Fan: No, but it's a kiddy show with no excitement or plot whatsoever.
Me: You blind? Go watch it!
Anime Fan: No way who'd like to see a little prodigy child solve cases? where's the plot?

Why is Detective Conan seen this way?
a) Mystery genre.
b) Given a picture of an anime with a little kid named Detective Conan people tend to mistake it for a children's show without even watching it.
c) DC wasn't given a decent timeslot. (America)
d) They only dubbed around 50+ episodes and because of this people only saw the repetitive side of Conan.
e) Conan's great turn into a mind boggling anime in my opinion starts with the reunion with the Black Organization which is waaaay into the series.
f) Length.

Because of this majority of anime fans aren't aware that DC has...
a) A great plot involving a shrunken Detective teaming up with the CIA and FBI against a deadly criminal organization.
b) Several inhumane plot twists
c) Overwhelmingly amounts of thrill,action,suspense when it comes to BO episodes.
d) In fact quite a lot of people are even unaware of Shinichi's shrinking. They think that Conan is just a prodigy crime solving nerd kid.
e) Haibara.
f) Several insane cases which can make a person love mystery.
g) Several other things.

In fact majority of anime fans have no clue about...
1) Haibara
2) The Black Organization
3) Kaitou Kid
4) Heji&Kazuha
5) The Metropolitcian police department.
6) Other DC greats

Majority of anime fans know of...
1) Shinichi
2) Ran
3) Conan

Majority of anime fans who've watched a bit of Conan know of...
1,2 and 3.
4) Kogoro
5) Sonoko
6) Megure
7) Detective Boys (Ayumi,Genta and Freckle boy)
8) Gin and Vodka but never saw them again after episode one (excluding episode 5 since they're fake in the anime version). - Wait? I doubt if they'd even know their names. In what episode were their names introduced again?

Because of this several magnificent episodes such as the Black Impact,The Clash,Desperate Revival,Reunion with the Org,345 and even the trembling 12 million hostages are overlooked. If everyone were to see 345 I can't imagine how many fans we'd have by now.

Haruhi & K-on seriously kill Conan. However in Japan it's probably the other way around. People right now don't know a thing about Detective Conan. They think they do but actually they don't. IMO Detective Conan is a regular anime outside of Japan but if people actually knew about it I'm almost sure it'd be at Bleach's level.
Detective Conan deserves way more recognition than it has right now.

because after 8 years... he still a boy... .. all they ask me... did conan become shinichi? and i said no.. then they said.... too bad.... 500 eps just for that... tehy said...

but for me... all the Naruto, Inuyasha, Bleach, and all others anime that have more tahn 200 eps... is way below conan in comparison

@Introuble: You're right. Another issue why people don't start to watch/read Conan would be that it's really long. People that I tell to watch/read it always say that too me, although they are interested in Detective Conan.
