Detective Conan Airship to promote Movie 14

I keep being surprised by Japanese people, I can not believe that they spent a fortune   in promoting anime Movie. I mean I understand that Japanese like anime, no matter how old they are but I did not expect it to reach this extent

I think it's because it's Detective Conan.  It's very very popular in Japan.  I doubt you'd see that type of promotion for say...Bakugan. (First thing to pop into my head). 

I don't know though, I don't think they do much promotion for DC movies.  It's not like a new series or anything.  I recall my friends saying there aren't much promotion because the people that will go see it are the DC fans.

I'm glad they decided to go with a blimp this year xD.

I love the Japanese. They built a full-size mechanical Gundam model and stuck it slap-bang in the middle of Tokyo for a promo (or maybe just for funsies, i'm not sure). What recession?

The gundam was for a "green" project, the 30th anniversary of Gundam, and an attempt to get Tokyo to be the site of the 2016 Olympics (Rio de Janeiro won the bid).

It was at Shiokaze park on the artificial island Odaiba in Tokyo Bay.
