What do you think would happen if Ayumi figured out Conan's identity?

Well, I have thought about that quite a lot before. Actually, I have even written fanfiction about it, it is one of my favorite topics.
In the end it depends on the situation - is Conan turning back into Shinichi already? In that case she surely will be sad, but in the end the two might be able to stay friends after they had some time for themselves.
Did he turn back a long time ago and Ayumi is putting the hints together and figures everything out? In that case she might already be over it and finding out Shinichis secret might deepen the bond between the two of them.

However, if Conan is still shrunk...
The first thing she would do is denying. I mean, it couldn't be true, could it? She could plea Conan to tell her that it is not true, just so he can stay with her. Conan/Shinichi would have a hard time breaking her heart, it might be one of the things that would stop him from taking an antidote immediately.
It might be a chance for the two though. Yes, the moment Ayumi learns about it thing will become difficult. But if they manage to overcome that crisis, Ayumi will suddenly be able to understand Conan even a bit better.


Would their love persist? Depends. If it is mutual, why not? As long as he remains Conan the two of them can overcome it and their relationship would grow even further. If Conan still chases after Ran... then Ayumi had no chance to begin with. At least she would understand a bit better why Conan didn't seem to show much interest in her.

In movie 4, Ayumi declare it to Ran, "tell him (Conan) that you are already with Shinichi !"
And as can you see, Conan never returned to Ayumi's feelings .

Here you you think that this coupling is cute. But what will happen if Ayumi were to find out that Conan is actually a high schooler ? She will know that he is actually Shinichi, a guy of Ran's dream...

But now he is Conan, the guy of her dreams. It is not like Conan could be with Ran as long as he is shrunk. And if he has to wait and grow up before he can be together with her... Ayumi has a chance, right?
A lot can happen in 7 years. And she will spend at least as much time with Conan as he does with Ran.

It was movie 5.
And it showed that she was concerned about Conan. And it indicated that she noticed that Conan has feelings for Ran. Not bad for a 7-year old, right?

And what would happen if Ran really did tell Conan that he should stop loving him? Should Conan tell her everything? Would he just continue as before? Or would he realize that he can't just keep Ran "on hold" while Shinichi disappeared without any indication when (and IF) he returns.

And as can you see, Conan never returned to Ayumi's feelings .

He only knows her for a few "months", and most of all: She is just a little child. As long as he believes he can return to Shinichi, he will not consider any other girl than Ran.
All it needs are a few years. Give Ayumi sometime to become more mature (physically and psychically), Conan some more time to realize that returning is not that easy, Ran some more time that she can live without Shinichi... things might change then. 

Sure, Ayumi is only a friend to him at the moment. But so was Ran when she was that age.

Nah, the chances of Conan x Haibara happening are actually lower than for Conan x Ayumi. Haibara is like Heiji to him: Someone who he can talk about him being shrunken and that has similar problems as him - but nothing more than that. Haibara is too different from him (and what he likes in girls) to be a serious option.
