Well, I like to put it this way: Ayumi learned that Conan-kun can't be won by the direct approaches that she used in the past. She has adjusted her tactics and is much more patient and more subtle, which fits better with what Conan seems to like in girls. So in a way, her chances with him increased that way, I liked how it improved the pairing. Also, it shows a "progress" that the "real pairing" (Shinichi x Ran) is missing for the most part - they are basically still at the same step like in the beginning.

Though, sometimes I miss wild Ayumi-chan from early in the series.

Though, it makes the moments when Ayumi shows her courage even more awesome now.
Also, it fits with her "growing up" to go with the change of the appearance of the Detective Boys, who look much older than right when the series started.

Yeah, it would be nice (and about time!) to remember his readers that there are is also a girl who actually loves Conan - and not Shinichi. That returning to his old self does not solve all problems. But of course also to show that getting an antidote is not necessary for Conan to have a good and fullfilled live, even if it would mean giving up some of the things that he had as Shinichi (and in turn gain others as Conan).
And of course it is funny to see him all embarrassed.
And most importantly: It is SOOOOO cute.

What is TYL supposed to mean in this context?

Well... more Ayumi is always good I guess.

Well, we didn't see much of Ayumi in the future yet, just two times in non-canon incidents, which are actually just predictions on how she would turn out in a few years...
Still, even at this times she was awesome (and still cute at the same time ).

I know. She only goes up to Kogoros knee, and Kogoro isn't exactly the tallest man in the world. Even with their new style (more grown up), the size of the Detective Boys (except maybe for Genta) is rather small compared to adults.
On the other hand the contrast in size clearly emphasizes that Conan is very different from Shinichi physically. Which of course also means that Ran is out of his reach as long as he remains that way.

And search for 歩美 there. Maybe you would need an account for that, but... you should get one anyway. The fanart there is awesome (well, at least some of it. But since it has so many members there is a good chance to find something you like.)

I think you misunderstood me. There is an Ayumi from a manga/anime from The World God Only Knows, and the only fanart that shows up under Ayumi on Pixiv is her and Ayumi from DC.

Also, I probably started developing when I was 7. Why was I a milk fanatic?
