Actually Ayumi is 7 and Conan is 7 as well. At least how far as society and laws would say as long as they don't know his true origin. Ayumi x Conan is a slow process that involves both of the growing up and getting older.
And it is not Shinichi/Conan falling for her because she is a kid, but it is about falling for her despite her being a kid.

Yes, pedophilia is about sexual attraction towards children. But I think it is save to say that Conan/Shinichi does not have such desires, considering the reactions during file 722-724 (steam murder case). Remember, no spoilers in this forum. 

Yeah, Conan would have to wait a while for such things if he becomes interested in Ayumi, but considering his current physical age he would have to wait anyway. So this should not be an obstacle.
Like mangaluva mentioned: The whole issue is mainly in his head, it depends on him seeing Ayumi not just as a kid 10 years younger than him but as a peer at his own age. Something that given enough time could easily happen.

That's right. If pedophilia was simply attraction towards children, emotional or physical, wouldn't that make Ayumi a pedophile for having a crush on Conan? No. It's purely emotional at that age, so if Conan did fall for her, it wouldn't be pedophilia, because, as Schillok said, he fell for her regardless of her age, rather than because of it.

That... sounds weird XDXDXD I haven't ever heard those terms before, but then again I thoroughly failed the Sciences. As far as I know, though, in common English "-philia" is a suffix used for sexual fetishes.
