tantei okuoku wrote:@kor I said at the begining that this was aimed at Region 1!!! fans not region 2!
Two people in this thread misunderstood/didn't know what region 1 stands for. The best way for it to be clear was just say (in your way) "ONLY FOR THE USA!"
tantei okuoku wrote:and if someone read a book you published cover to cover at the bookstore then you should get paid for that person for the book, you read it and you like it enough to go to the end then you should probably pay the author for the book
A horrible example. I'm willing to pay for the guy who would read in the bookstore the whole book. Not only that the seller would eventually notice, it would be much more comfortable to read it at home. Plus, he if he read everything, then shouldn't I be glad? The point which you tried to make is completely different from the example you gave.
tantei okuoku wrote:however once and if funimation hits that mark then you buy there version of it like the fan subs always ask you to.
Many people don't, though. Same for CDs, games, music, movies, EVERYTHING you can get/download in the internet. If one can save his money and get what he wanted for free, he'd probably get it for free - that's how some of the humans are.
tantei okuoku wrote:I am worried about subs because I want TO OWN the dvds because they can be played on a TV very easily
yes...I think that's how DVDs supposed to work - and your point being...?
tantei okuoku wrote:and I can loan people easily.
so when you loan a DVD which you bought its A-OK, but if you send to a friend in the mail a link to a site which has some episodes it's pure evil? Why shouldn't your friends then buy as well the DVDs instead of loaning them from you?
tantei okuoku wrote:And kor many parts of my speech where caps because some of you don't seem to get the point unless I act like glen beck, and then your stereotyping of show does not allow you to see the problem.
but...but...stereotyping is fun :'(
The real point is: Detect- I'm sorry, Case Closed isn't doing so well and it will most likely stop the production. No big deal (since we have DCTP) and some shows/movies/books/records are just not meant to succeed, or at least not succeed in some place. Detective Conan is doing very well in Japan. in the US, as far as I understood, some people screwed up (air times, name changes, edits) and now you can see the result.
tantei okuoku wrote:also don't take peoples quotes out of context, mis-quote them by forgetting the correct way to quote them.
I didn't, but quoting any further would be so significant? I personally think a "true Conan fan" wouldn't like the whole funanimation parade. I can't stand the english dub of Sailor Moon for example even though Sailor Moon is (and will be) one of my favorite anime of all time.

thank you very much, I know many fans do buy the sets but you get some people like parkur and kor who think that fan subs are the greatest to happen to anime and
them along with it, well newsflash you two they are not and
neither are you
who's getting things out of context now? ::)
We never said anything like that.
also, as I (and you) said, I'm from Israel therefore whatever arguement you may hold over what I said, is not valid. Fansubs IS the only option for me to watch DC, you know.
Here is a real newsflash. What funanimation wants? MONEY. Something they probably not get much from DC hence why they might abandon the project. You are supporting a money grabber company. I am supporting a bunch of people who are the last thing but selfish and never asked for a dime.
