also at 6:49 in 559 what was with the flash of the cell phone with the message on it? It had no relevance to the current plot and as far as I can tell was only supposed to pop up at 10:05 in 559 560.

you meant "10:05 in 560" right?  Yeah, "The Late Koumei" randomly popped in there...was that an animation error by the DC TMS people? Weird.

Also, can someone explain to me why the wall was painted red for the 2nd murder?  I must of missed something...

Heh, when they were all disguised, I thought for sure that the drunken guy was Kogoro, turned out to be Koumei

Dude, in the end of 561 when Koumei goes "thanks for introducing me to this kid.." I totally thought it was because he was Bourbon and finally found Kudo Shinichi..but then he finished his sentence -.-

"The Late Koumei" message text is not an error, Koumei actually wanted to write "The Late Koumei scares away the living Zhonda" as a hint of the real dying message of Shuusaku-san, but was attacked by Midori-san before he could have finshed. It is explained in 561, 17:04 - 17:06

That was because the real culprit didn't understand the hidden meaning of the dying message. He just copied it as much as he could, to make the detectives think the dying message was actually a message from the culprit himself (and make them dismiss the value of it). Of course, he still felt very uneasy about it, because he wasn't sure whether he didn't reveal himself (via the hidden message he couldn't decode) by doing that.

oh no, I understand the meaning behind the message. However in 559, the episode before that even happens, you see a flash of the cell phone with the message on it for absolutely no reason, when Koumei hasn't even written the message yet.

I don´t think so ...  in ep. 219 the shadowman also talks if I remember correctly.
