So many people are gonna hate me for this.

Shinichi/Conan (When first introduced: extremely intelligent with an ego the size of a house who won't shut up about Sherlock Holmes. Ends up being depressed when he's a kid. Now: Is often optimistic and has a much smaller ego. Not depressed.)

Ran (When first introduced: girl that secretly likes Shinichi who gets angry at him because of his ego among other reasons. Now: Girl who so blatantly likes Shinichi that Tequila knows that. And Tequila has never met her. AND TEQUILA'S DEAD.)

Kogoro (When first introduced: drinks and has no work. Now: Yoko obsessed guy who drinks and is now famous. Sometimes is surprisingly intelligent and cool.)

Genta (When first introduced: Self proclaimed leader of the Detective Boys. Kinda rude at times but still a good kid. Now: Eats food.)

Ayumi (When first introduced: Easily scared girl who likes Conan. Now: Basically the same.)

Mitsuhiko (When first introduced: Intelligent part of the Detective Boys (ignoring Conan of course). Now: Who cares, the DB jump the shark every other appearance)

Haibara (When first introduced: Somewhat quiet girl who has an awesome sense of humor, is helping Conan because of their similar situation and is like the dark, pessimistic version of Conan. Is actually very sad. Now: Angry, cautious and still kinda pessimistic girl.)

Agasa (When first introduced: Smart and nice guy who makes inventions for Conan. Now: Only exists because the Detective Boys can't drive and because Conan and Haibara might need to discuss the plot with him.)

Sonoko (When first introduced: Is obsessed with boys. Now: Is obsessed with Makoto and Kid.)

Sonoko's sister (When first introduced: Sonoko's sister. Now: vanished into thin air?)

Megure (When first introduced: Inspector who is annoyed by Kogoro. Now: One of the only characters to consistently see certain silliness and repeditiveness in this series. Gets angry at Takagi, Satou and Chiba quite easily.)

Takagi (When first introduced: guy who helps Megure. Now: Guy who will do anything Satou or Conan ask.)

Satou (When first introduced: woman Takagi likes who thinks Conan is an intelligent kid that can find clues adults can't. Now: Takagi's girlfriend.)

Yumi (When first introduced: Wants Takagi and Satou to be a couple and is kinda the Sonoko of the police. Now: Is unimportant?)

Heiji (When first introduced: detective as famous as Shinichi. Wants to know where Shinichi is so he can prove he is better than him.  Now: dense Osaka version of Shinichi who is basically Conan's best friend)

Kazuha (When first introduced: Girl who has known Heiji since they were kids and is jealous of Ran. Now: Osaka version of Ran.)

Gin (When first introduced: Cold blooded killer with an evil smile. Now: Same but often acts almost like the real leader of the BO.)

Vodka (When first introduced: Gin's partner. Now: Gin's lackey.)

Kir (When first introduced: Part of the BO. But unusually nice. Now: Spy for the FBI/CIA.)

Jirokichi (When first introduced: Sonoko's uncle who will probably die pretty soon. Wants to defeat Kid before then. Now: Is an idiot who forgot that he will probably die soon.)

Okiya Subaru (When first introduced: Mysterious student who might be Bourbon. Now: Cameo obsessed guy who might be Akai.)

Yamamura: First: Stupid officer who is afraid of dead bodies. Now: Still silly, but got promotion.
Chiba: Officer with weight problems Now: Officer on diet.

Yamamura: First: Stupid officer who is afraid of dead bodies. Now: Still silly, but got promotion.

Yamamura is very interesting. For a long time after his first appearance he was a childish Kogoro fanboy but now that he's an Inspector he's starting to act like a jerk unless people RESPECT HIS AUTHORITAH. But since it's Yamamura it's hilarious.

You forgot to mention one of the Tokyo police.  He used to play a big role in the whole police social network, but has for a long time now been MIA.

Yes, i know it's just a joke.. but i still think she deserve more credit's on character development...

Nevertheless, she got the most character development throughout the series compared with all characters...

Kid: Thief who is hated by a certain user for insulting Conan. Now: Still hated by the same user, but now only to spite his fans.

I haven't gotten farther than 430 yet with the anime and book 60, therefore...
