Because people who want to make interesting or thoughtful posts are in effect competing for space with spam and in-jokes. People are less likely to say something worthwhile if the discussion going on is void of meaningful content. Obviously these have seen a ridiculous amount of discussion, from tons of angles, so going offtopic is understandable. That doesn't make it a good thing however.

who in monkey hell is that prof paranoia?

I don't like how in opening 29, Ai's role is diminished to just being part of the detective boys.  tis lame

You mean the guy in those pics or are you asking who I am myself? Since the second one can't be answered I tell you the guy in the pictures is an internet movie "critic" (basically done less for criticism and more for humor), his name is Mathew Burke. He's basically another one of thos Tat Guy with the Glasses guys who aren't the nostalgia critic. I posted a picture of him because of kk's post about like "because the plot says so" lines in which Burke uses a lot.

I don't like how in opening 29, Ai's role is diminished to just being part of the detective boys.  tis lame

Ai's role in the op's seem to become more like her roles in the endings, if she gets one. Though, unlike in those she still has one most of the time.
