I agree with it, his feelings for Ran are undoubtly strong but he´s always ready to let her wait to solve the cases which are dropping before his feets. Not that it´s a bad thing (but i don´t find it good either
) but at the restaurant where he wanted to tell her something "really important", at the first time he heard the scream he wasn´t with her anymore though he really fighted hard not to
run to the case asap.
Ran noticed that too that he was unconcentrated (which was obvious
), so well why to held him at her side when he isn´t able to concentrate at her properly? Yeah, that´s sound hard and unfair, but i would have liked it when he would have acted more like an adult and said that it´s too noisy here and Megure and Tagaki aren´t amateurs, they can solve a case once all by themself too and that they better go to another place for the thing he wanted to tell her.
But i´m really glad he didn´t. *puh*

Surely, the whole series is about Shinichi's "genious" plan "I'll tell her myself in the end", but I wouldn't wonder if Ran told him: "I knew it, you silly". That is why I don't expect that Ran will find out who Shinichi is until the end is really near. It is a pity, but that's DC's story. However there was a nice case in Volume 38 if I remember crrectly about Wlfface and identities and heh... it seems like Conan needs to be "defeated" in order to reveal his true identity. Maybe his mask will fall off when he thinks Ran is dead (but she is not of course) and then happy ending. But who will make him loose his face? Kogoro? That would be a shock. O.O Or the boss of the BO?
If she dies and he´ll see or know it he will cry rivers like Ai did..... hard to imagine, but that would be an hell of a picture to watch! (no, i´m not sadistic) 8)

I really dont think that she hates his detective side.. She just says it. But if you see the episodes, you can notice that she likes his art, like kazuha does with heijis detective side. But they behave like they dont like it. IN MY OPINION
You don´t let wait the "most important person" in your life or lies to her. That´s what i think. I believe Shinichi still has to go a long way to fully understand Ran as who she is. As C.E. he has already witness her how she is without him around or when she thinks she´s alone. But still, there´s a lot he probably didn´t noticed like so often. Well, that´s another story. Too tired to write it down.
I guess she likes his detective side as how he brightens up when doing so. What she probably doesn´t like is that he is only like that when there´s a case but not only with being with her and also that she can only watch it from the sidelines cause he always "leave" her to be "one-one" with the case. XD
She said herself she´s a "super-dummy" for liking that side of him. Of cource she didn´t meant it in a negative way, but she also can´t be really happy with only that.
And agree with that he cares
alot for her. With the "more then his own life" i would be a bit careful since he also risked his life when saving Ai at the bus bomb case, so the same could be said for her too. And we had that dispute already and agreed that he would do that for everyone he protects.^^
