Uh, it's already known who'll do her voice. It's Brina Palencia. Only other work I've experienced that she's done is Private First Class Tamama from Sgt. Frog. Safe to say not using the same voice. XD

but I am still unclear why Funi is focusing so much on the non-canonical movies than the actual anime series.  I mean, it's great that more DC stuff is going up, but they're using up all their limited resources on the movies!!

they are using the movies to see if people will buy enough Case Closed to justify continuing to dub the actual series.

Correct, although ALL of this stuff was done in 2004. I believe that if the regular show had sold very well, all of this stuff would have been out already, and we'd have more stuff to see on the way, like new seasons. The release of these movies, as well as the sales of the fifth season (Which I heard were pretty well,) are pretty much going to decide on if Funimation is going to continue to dub the show. So we're going to have to see what happens with the future of the dub. By Spring 2010 we should know what Funi's decision is going to be.

that is correct but lets not forget the VC sales of seasons 1-5 have a influence as well. also the box art for season is actually very nice in the VC it has come a LONG way from the season one box art.

Not bad and at least it's not a kiddy voice.  Having watched the movie, I think I'll stick with the fansub version of the original japanese movie.  There was just too much in the Funi version that was removed.

that's even more unfitting for a child than the original version could ever do but it works quite well and THANK GOD SHE DOESN'T SOUND LIKE SHIN-CHAN

What the hell happened with Conan and Mitsuhiko's voices?! I'm not sure if it's the clip, but they both sound completely horrible, like they've completely downgraded.

I'm very surprised at Haibara's voice. It's not completely horrible, and actually, I never felt that Haibara would have a completely kiddy voice, anyway. From the clip, it sounds like a good choice.

O_o Jeez! What the heck was that!? That was completely unexpected! Still too early for me to pass judgment, so I'll wait for more to see how quickly it will get to "I don't care" mode.

Obviously, even though I will have this, I will keep the original, since I feel more entitled and less guilty (which makes me wonder why I don't have 1 and 2). As for the others' voices, it is a bit different, but I'll chalk that up to the bit of a hiatus. If not...then I'm not going to care, like I mostly always do.
