I kind of hated it.   :(

I already knew it would be next-to-impossible to make a good non-canon anything involving the BO.  But this... read like a bad self-insertion fanfic.  I think the only redeeming point was how they tied the DB into it.

Made Gin look like an idiot.  Had everyone that could overhear about Shinichi's secret conveniently be knocked out...  Gin-tachi could have rescued Irish instead of killing him.  Vermouth way too forthcoming about BO-related stuff, and way too friendly.  The main villain dies saving Shinichi... sigh.

Also, Haibara has too small a part.   ;D

Personally, it was really interesting and worth watching.  I'll give it 9 out of 10.

I usually expect to have thrilling experience in movies and don't care the accuracy of that or how much real that could be, to be honest.  So my rating is not advisable to anyone I, guess.

And especially...

I love the way the BO member works undercover in disguise as a familiar character to us.  This idea makes me scary positively and thus keeps me stuck to the story until his true identuty is revealed. Also, I find it quite unique to have two totally different culprits in one movie, which means that we have two cases to work out.  This reminds me of the 6th movie, where we also had two murderers but one of the them was obvious...

This movie is definitely not canon, but it is worth to watch. I wouldn't say it was bad at all. The drawings were nice, we got to see Gosho's drawing more often I think...or maybe tehy were just too memorable to me. ^^"

Is there anyone in this movie who is not OOC? But the most terrible thing was the thing with Conan in the end. I don't wan't to spoil anyone, but the ones who saw it, will understand. The thirst thing I thought of after it, was his accusation towards Shiho,

i didn't have high hope concerning this movie(i'm not a huge fan of DC movies),but after reading this thread,i wonder if i will like it...seems like the caracters are OOC,so i'm a bit sceptical

Late reply, but I rewatched M13 raw. I'm skeptical. What scene are you talking about? Are you sure you heard it right because although my translating ability is awful, I don't think Conan actually said this...

No, I don't think he got a good enough look to even tell Conan was a kid because I think him or someone else would have commented on that.

No it didn't. I thought it was pretty good. You might think it was bad if you think DC movies must absolutely stick to canon. The mystery is solvable on the fly even though I am not fluent in Japanese. The movie builds suspense well. Watch it when it gets translated.

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up. I hope no one else misinterpreted that comment like I did. I definitely don't think Conan was OOC. His actions were entirely in self defense and also to protect Ran and the cops who were helplessly lying out on the lower floor in the open. If he had jumped off without attacking back, the B.O. might have simply descended in the chopper to check out what happened, see a lack of smooshed body (or the suspenders hanging down), and then open fire again, possibly killing Conan, Ran, and the police. Also, if Gin ordered Chianti to fire more tear gas inside to flush Conan out, Ran or the police might have woken up which would have definitely made them easy targets in their woozy state. Conan had plenty of good reasons for fighting back. Also, I'm not sure Conan anticipated something as drastic as taking down the whole helicopter in a way that gave the B.O. operatives very little time to escape. They ejected safely anyway because Agasa commented on no bodies being found in the wreckage.
Anyway, at risk of opening a can of worms; Shiho was voluntarily conducting the drug research even though you could argue that she was under some duress. Remember, she was getting ready to personally test it on Kiichirou Numabuchi before she escaped. If her sister hadn't been killed, she very well may have gone through with the test. Rabid Ai fans aside, in the US at least, Conan would be legally better off with a self defense argument than Ai probably would be for her work on the drug regardless of her original goal in development.

By the way, my translating ability stinks, but it sounded like Irish wanted to take Conan to the boss to show him the the effects of the drug. Am I right?

This is what I'm talking about when I say that at the end of the series, if Shiho returns to being Shiho and doesn't run away or something, she'd have to be prosecuted.  And all parties, including Shinichi, Agasa, and Shiho herself, would agree that it'd have to be that way.  Unless some sort of plea agreement were made.

Irish wanted to take Conan to the Boss in order to show the Boss Gin's failures: 1) He was unsuccessful at killing Kudou Shinichi, and 2) He wasn't able to realize Conan's identity.  This would cause Gin to lose standing within the organization.
