Hi everyone,

I recently re-watched Episode / 2-hour-special „Head-to-Head Match with the Black Organization: A Dual Mystery on a Full Moon Night“.
It is my favourite DC special - so captivating, I loved every second of it. And: It provided significant progress for the overall storyline.

Recently, I feel like this excitement has gone to some degree ... yes, there is some progress in the story, but I‘ve been missing something as breathtaking as this special (the music and atmosphere played a huge role too!).

As far as I know, there have not even been any 2+ hour specials at all during the last years ...

So what do you think? Are we going to see something similar as this special in the near future?

At this point, most likely it won't be for a long time. The best recently has been the Crimson School Trip Case, but the gaps since the epic specials have been scarce in recent years for sure.

Specials aren't that profitable nowadays since the timeslot changed and audience meter isn't that high; also there's a lot of negotiations to be held so as to secure that timeslot from other shows, compensations to be made, etc.
