The official website for the Detective Conan (Case Closed) anime revealed on Wednesday that the anime will get two one-hour specials that will air on January 5 and 12 next year. The specials, titled "Kurenai no Shūgaku Ryokō-hen" (Crimson School Trip), adapts the original manga's chapters 1,000 through 1,005.

so they gonna make 2 hours worth of anime for 6 manga chapters? wow! how much filler it gonna have? an hour should have been ok(they usually do 2 part for cases with 5-6 chapters) but 2 hours is gonna be overkill

It is basically two 40 minute episodes. And generally two 20 min episodes=3 chapters(not 5 or 6). So not really an overkill (Do the math).

I find this news hard to believe. Simply because this sounds like something remotely interesting happening in the anime. :V

I'm looking forward to this, it's been a very long time since we had a canon 1 hour special.

Um... you mean only the biggest character development in the series yet?! One that forever changes the character relationships and provides basis for pushing others to do the same in the future?? How are you not super HYPED about this? ;D (I read this Crimson School Trip arc in the manga a year ago.)

One that forever changes
I already don't believe you. Someday we will all be dead, and Conan will still be a child solving murder mysteries.

According to a recent Yamaguchi Kappei (Shinichi's VA) interview, resumed in this tweet:

https://twitter.com/CONAN__LIFE/status/ ... 2217672704
Spoiler:
1) Part 1 (of the January 1-hour specials) is Scarlet, Part 2 is Love Crimson.
(I guess it doesn't translate well because of each chapter of the school trip being about a shade of red and so. Guess it means Part 1 will be more focused on the case and part 2 main focus will be the ShinRan stuff.)
2) There'll be new "original scenes" (anime-only scenes) and "arranged / remade scenes" too
3) There MIGHT be a new vocal song for these episodes (maybe means songs for the OP)
4) The anime staff has gone to Kyoto to take reference material (photos, videos, etc.)
5) There'll be AOs until this is broadcast in January
(which probably means the remaining 2 manga episodes before this case will be in December and there'l be a couple AOs between them and these specials)
6) Movie trailers are dubbed before the movie script is shown to VAs (something explained in other movie-related interviews)

Spoiler:
Very promising, especially the AO-scenes. It's probably gonna be more sightseeing and activity details fleshing out the manga montage of them enjoying Kiyomizudera. Also very reassuring to know that they are putting effort to the extent of visiting Kyoto. This is definitely gonna be two insanely good specials.
