people have different reasons/ tastes.  The people who support shinxran can say the samething about ai and conan. Why do people like ai, she is so cold and mean.  However to answer your question, I suppose shinxran fans like this pairing either due to the childhood love story, or simply the fact that it's like the main love story, and you might as well live with it.
Or they dig nagging girls chasing after guys *gets bricked.

it seemed like shinran had no good points at all and the pairing was totally trash

even the dumbest person on earth could answer your question. im sure a DC fan shinran supporter or not can give at least  one reason on how shinran is good.
even a shinran hater could give one good reason.

as a shinran supporter i could give a few reasons or even a lot on what makes coai so good
in order for someone to answer your question they need to know 3 things

1) a good knowledge about DC and the pairings
2) must be able to see in another persons point of view
3) common sense

now im sure you have number one.
but what about 2 and 3?
if there is nothing good about shinran in the first place then why the heck would there be supporters for the couple?

now if you have number 3 (common sense) you would be reading posts in the Ai + Conan topic or in some other topic involving shinran vs coai.
a DC fan hell.....screw number one any person who has watched episode one can answer your question

Well, I voted Shinichi and Ran. Why do they become such a perfect couple? Because they are meant together. Aoyama Gosho meant them to be together. He successfully convinced us to like them as a couple in many ways he used to create in Detective Conan. Just simple.

Ok fine people are Titled to their opinions. Theres really nothing interesting about SHinRan. Only reason why people vote for them is because they are the main couple? Its kinda pathetic how they are the main couple yet the least interesting and has the least intereaction.

And I use to like the couple until i found out they probably will never actually be together for more than 2 episodes so I gave up on it. When haibara came people started saying Aiconan ftw! I was like wtf? That stingy b*tch? Nah I rather SHinran. But when I started to actually see her more she became so funny and such a perfect match for him I could finally see why they say they are a good couple and when I saw the Bus jacking episoded I was fullly convinced that Aiconan is definitly better than ShinRan although I didn't want to believe such a couple could exist to beat SHinRan . and when i saw the other episodes with haibara and conan...damn such a thrill to see them together.

I started asking myself why I even liked ShinRan. And now I know thanks to you guys. It was only because they seem like the perfect couple in the first 2 episodes.But now....they are so disfunctional..lmao

I think gosho made hejiKazuna into the relationship that was suppose to be like for shinran. so..Im wondering why Heiji and Kazuna isn't as popular
