Yay for holes! Anyway, I'm Shinichi x Ran all the way, but I do love all the other canon pairings.

But what about Akai x Jodie? O:

I like the idea of Conan x Ai, but it seems extremely unlikely, maybe even impossible to happen canonically. Almost like a forbidden love... But I still decided to vote for Conan x Ai!

AixConan ftw. Shinichi and Ran are just so BORING.

And just out of curiosity: why is AixAkai up there? I know that GinxSherry has a bit of a fandom following, but I don't think I've come across something with Akai and Sherry/Ai...

Meh. At least it's different. I like non-canon couples. With the exception of TakagixSatou, I find most of the standard couples to be extraordinarily static and droll.

Why do so many AixConan fans see AixConan as an isolated "non canon" pair instead of one side of a developing love triangle? Nothing wrong with being disinterested completely or rooting for the other woman, but the ShinRan side of the relationship is the way it is primarily because Haibara intervened after the relationship (and Ran) had progressed to the point that she was willing to accept Shin'chi's ruse and play along rather than confront him again (and Ran had been quietly suspicious ever since volume 14, so it wasn't just a sudden reset button used for a suddenly repeated plot point). It's still developing, too, since {volume 42+ spoilers}

Ran went from depressed to... uh... anticipating after getting Shin'ichi's voice number, Haibara started to respect Ran and sees her as a sister, and after hearing it directly from Haibara, Heiji no longer appears to buy the reasons for keeping Ran ignorant, after he already changed his mind once and tried to help fool Ran.
"Boring"? Matter of taste. "Slow to progress"? Like every other bit of continuity in this series, of course. "Static"? Nope!

I agree with Nyarl. There will probably be an issue with Ai's unrequited love in the canon plot.

You know, I've also wondered about Akai & Haibara (Shiho, actually). But, I'm not so sure Akemi wouldn't rise from the grave and strangle her younger sis if she started dating her ex-boyfriend.

Ai & Conan 4ever!

Much better couple than Ran & Shin. Actually, I like Ran, but she can be so boring at times. Ai is never boring. She is cool, mysterious, and sophisticated, and ..., and ...

Wooo, I better get a hold of myself!  :o

I'd say "yes", since this topic is about DC couples and someone posted the possibility of AiXChiba as a couple (which was, I think, just a joke) and about Chiba-kun being a ladies man (this, I agree with lol).

Chiba is a ladies man. Where do you think Kid gets his fashion tips and who trained Makoto, yep all Chiba. Chiba is also the reason behind Heiji's charms and Shinichi's deduction abilities, the man has no limits. It probably seemed unrelated to this topic because I didn't quote before posting that comment, or maybe because I talked about Genta-kun (which is part of the ironic thing, since I've read once somewhere about AiXGenta as a couple too O_O).
