Re: DC Question and Answer Thread - Have a question? Get an answer here
MeiTanteiX ninja'd me but I'll post this nevertheless to have a copy in DCTP as well:
At a Q&A session in 2005:
Q.黒の組織について?
Q: "Can you tell me more about the Black Organization?"
A.正式名称はある。言うとボスの名前がバレちゃうので言えません
A: "There is an official name. But if I say it the Boss' name will be revealed so I cannot tell you"
From an interview in the January, 2006:
実はボスの名前は既に原作のどこかにでている。捜してみて下さい
"Truth is... The Boss' name has already appeared somewhere in the manga. Try to search for it if you may"
So it should've shown up before File 551 ("Nail and Snake"), File 8 of Volume 53
Interview in June the 30th, 2012
Q: コナンに登場する犯罪組織の黒幕は、男ですか、女ですか
Q: "The mastermind of the criminal organization that shows up in Conan. Is it a man? Is it a woman?"
A:「それは言えない。でも、今までにフルネームで登場している人です」
A: "I can't tell you that. But it's someone who's already appeared with their full name"
So we can sum it up like this:
1) The BO has an official name. Knowing that will allow us to know who the boss is
2) He/she has already appeared before File 551
3) And he/she has appeared with their full name: it's not a nameless background character
And that of "Haibara would be shocked" is from an unconfirmed, non-Japanese source so its validity is questionable. It would be better to not to take it too seriously until it can be proven if it's official or not.

I've always wondered, since Shinichi/Conan has worked so close with the police there has been a few cases where they've checked his fingerprints, wouldn't they realise that Shinichi's and Conan's fingerprints are identical?
And another thing that I find funny is how Haibara had lived in America for a while but still didn't realise that the word Vermouth is Berumutto lol.

@ginandjuice:
The police don't need to go comparing peoples' fingerprints unless an investigation demands it.
The only time Conan's fingerprints have been relevant in a police investigation was in the Shiragami - sama case when Heiji asked the village's policeman to compare a knife's handle fingerprints with those in the charm he once lent to Conan: of course that the policeman didn't know whose fingerprints they were, he just had to compare them.
When Akai was "killed" Jodie brought the cellphone Conan had lent her to the police so they could double-check the burnt body's fingerprints with those of the phone to see if it was Akai: it actually was Kusuda Rikumichi but they didn't know the owner of them, they just compared the two sets to see if they matched. They knew Conan's fingerprints were in the phone too but they didn't pay attention to them, they just compared them to the ones in the database and that's it.
And Haibara didn't react to Vermouth when Conan mentioned the name to her because he used the English reading. Ran also read it in English as well.
Japanese use the German reading of "Wermut" to refer to Vermouth. Haibara was used to that reading and didn't know the English reading.

@Spimer yeah I was just thinking that when you try to add a new set of fingerprints to the database it might come up "these already exist blabla" but I suppose I was wrong.
And I get that but if you're half British half Japanese and lived in America surely you should know that Vermouth means Berumotto even if it's different pronouncation, just a thought!

Well, Haibara has said several times she doesn't know much about alcoholic drinks and maybe she never bothered to learn the English spelling of "vermouth". More like she didn't want to have anything to do with her, we've seen how much she fears her.
Regarding Conan/Shinichi's fingerprints... Maybe they're not even in the database to begin with? Normal citizens don't need to record them unless it's necessary for the passport or something like that, I think. I could be wrong, though.
For example: here in Spain you're required to record yours when you renew your identity card so that you can use that to access the electronic ID card but I dunno how it's like in Japan.

If i ain't wrong, She wasn't exposed much towards outdoors while staying in america and i don't think it is necessary that she would be knowing it deliberately.

Does anyone think Takagi ever wondered about what Conan said in the bombing case when he was stuck in the Tokyo Tower Elevator box with him.
When he said "Who are you?"
Conan was as if ready to answer him. I wonder if it's ever bugged him
OR TAKAGI ALREADY KNOWS AND HE'S ANOKATA
Just ignore that last statement
Or maybe Conan has secretly told him but it hasn't been shown for whatever reason? Could that be a possibility?
On a similar note, its only Akai who knows about Conan's true identity right? Camel, James and Jodie has never questioning how smart he is and willingly takes orders from him, makes me wonder if they know as well. But officially they don't know right?

I started reading Detective Conan as a kid, I loved every part of it even when I didn't understand the science or logic behind a case. Now as an adult, it's bitter sweet knowing the series has lasted this long, because I am still surprised at what Gosho has to offer but sad knowing soon a big part of my life will come to an end. I'm glad to know there are people out there who love this series as much as I do and is willing to lose sleep just to discuss the intricate plot.

Gosho said in an interview that Takagi thinks that Conan is a bright boy, but doesn't suspect him one bit. I think a possible Takagi suspicion arc was probably put on the USS Abandoned Plotlines along with the two FBI Agents in the movie studio case.
Camel, James and Jodie don't know. When Yukiko slips in the Scarlet Epilogue and calls Conan "Shin-Conan-kun", Camel and Jodie are just confused by that appellation (with Jodie even thinking "Shin-Conan-kun?"), while Akai as Subaru smiles knowingly. They also don't know that Haibara is Shiho Miyano (based on James' retelling of Akais undercover operation during Clash), unlike Akai ofc, who knows about Haibara's true identity as well.

Conan said he'll tell Takagi in the afterlife I'm pretty sure so that 'plotline' should have ended there if there ever was one.

No. DCTP stopped fansubbing years ago because of a "cease and desist" request by FUNimation.
Therefore, it is forbidden to talk about fansubs on this community or ask where to find them. Posting links to them is also forbidden.

Is no one going to transcribe Gosho's Q&A in Singapore? It's quite important.
Spoiler:
DC has been an important part of my childhood, it's one of those shows that I watched as a kid.
I begin to take DC seriously in 2012 when curiosity of BO got the better of me. And I never regretted that.

We lack a clear audio source to uses as basis for the transcript. And we'll do so once we have access to it.
