I'll be going to Singapore next month, and with that, I have a couple of questions:

1. Is there any news about Movie 19 showing in Singaporean theaters? (I apologize if this has been addressed in the Movie 19 thread; I haven't been on the forums for a while and would like avoid digging through potential spoilers.)

2. Is it true that the recent movies have DVD releases in Singapore? If so, where can I get them (referring to brick-and-mortar stores here)?

3. Not related to the Singapore questions above, but does anyone know where Yonehara Sakurako's name comes from?

Thank you so much in advance!

1-There was a premiere yesterday and the movie is being released in more theaters on the 23rd. Whether it's still in theaters near you by the time you arrive in the country though, I can't say.

2-No official releases that I know of. Maybe bootlegs ?

3-Nope, sorry.

@Ran-dezvous: to answer your questions...

1) Yes. It'll open on Singapore threaters on July 23.
2) I'm not sure about that. Conan DVDs usually release by October/November in Japan. Maybe they get released there soon after too.
3) I don't know. There's nothing on the wiki either. "Sakurako" is a common girl name, though.

Ninaj'd by Wakarimashita. xD.

@mi.chan: here are the replies.
1) He's returned. Check the "Story Discussion" boards. File 925 has been released.
2) You can't watch it online yet. You need to wait for October/November when the DVD/Blu-Ray is released in Japan. It's always been like this.
3) About watching NTV in Africa, I don't know. Magic Kaito 1412 has already ended and we don't know if there'll be 2nd season.

For NTV in Africa, you can use Keyhole TV and then search for 日本テレビ. But be aware that the quality isn't always very good.

Gosho probably planed the name in advance since the Voice actress is named "Sakura" and originally voiced the character "Sakura" from "Cardcaptor Sakura"
I hope that I can find someway to contribute to the community even if it's just random crack theories and looking things up for people who can't find the information they need.

Hi all!

If it can be answered, I'm wondering;

Does anyone know Akai Shuichi's license plate number/location on his Chevy? I own a 1500 and I'd like to order a replica for the front plate space, but have unfortunately not been able to find much information online via English-searching means, nor can I implicitly recall any episode number where the plate is visible. Thanks for the help and sorry for the trouble.

Edit: The wiki offers 12-02 for the number, but that still leaves me without the location and adjoining number, as well as the character beside the plate number.
Edit 2: It seems most of the FBI vehicles used in the series are Shinjuku issued, so I'd assume that'd also stand for Akai's Chevy.
Edit 3: Well, after asking and doing some digging I seemingly have found the plate. However, I am unable to distinguish the issuing location; it does look vaguely like Shinjuku. Assuming it is; the plate is,

新宿 800
た 12-02

@cody7799: the plate does say "Shinjuku" before the 800. Then it's got the "ta" hiragana in front of 12-02. But take into mind that maybe the plate was made up by the anime staff and in the manga the plate isn't written. I think same happened with Gin's Porsche: the plates were made up by the anime staff.

@TanteiSa: I'd heard before that manga adaptations of the movies were done but it's not by Aoyama. But they don't make a difference: the plot and all is the same on the movies. It's just merchandise. Other animes also do manga adaptations in which most of the plot is taken straight from the movie.

As for who's done them... I guess different authors over time? Maybe you could try searching in the DCW Wiki.

They are drawn by Gosho's assistant Yutaka Abe and another assistant who mainly draws the backgrounds.
They drew movie 1, movie 3, movie 13, Lupin III vs Conan, Lupin III vs Conan: The Movie and movie 18. Movie 3 was the first to be adapted, then movie 13, LIIIvsConan, LIIIvsConan: The Movie, movie 1 and movie 18. They'll probably do movie 20 or movie 5 too.
Most of the adaptations are in three volumes, but they decided to cut some dialogues in movie 1 and LIII vs Conan's adaptation, so the story could fit one volume.
The characters are well drawn, and are sometimes even better than when Aoyama draws them.

Either go to Japan, or use the Internet.

Not for the moment... but I bet someone will translate them in a few weeks... :P
