Ah yes, I tried watching it (only watched 20 minutes) but I felt like I was missing on something. And I didn't understand the relationships between the cast. Thank you, Kor!Kor wrote:About the TV special - yes, you probably should watch it. Characters from the special appear in the movie and you'll maybe be confused about some of the movie's aspects if you don't watch it. Plus, the Conan cast and Lupin cast know each other thanks to that special, so you'll miss part of their established dynamics.

On the DCW page on Kir, it says that her codename comes from a cocktail and how it's different from the other female BO members. This got me thinking. What if the very codename is a hint that she is not loyal to the BO?

Can you explain that in more detail?Max1996 wrote:On the DCW page on Kir, it says that her codename comes from a cocktail and how it's different from the other female BO members. This got me thinking. What if the very codename is a hint that she is not loyal to the BO?

“Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent. We would not dare to conceive the things which are really mere commonplaces of existence. If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.”

Yes I have read it all, and I'm up to date with the manga as well. I was asking how did her code name hint that she's not loyal to the BO?

High-ranked female members were given sweet wines as code names (Sherry, Chianti, Vermouth) where Kir differs as her code name comes from a wine-based cocktail drink rather than the alcohol itself. I think this was what they were referring to.TanteiSa wrote:DCUniverseAficionado wrote:Have you read past Volume 58?TanteiSa wrote:Can you explain that in more detail?Max1996 wrote:On the DCW page on Kir, it says that her codename comes from a cocktail and how it's different from the other female BO members. Here's the hint in a bit more detail: Kir is a cocktail, made by mixing créme de cassis (a somewhat black wine) with white wine (somewhat white). For the cocktail Kir, this is the mixing of two wines with opposite colors. For Mizunashi, this could mean a "mix of loyalty" between the BO and an organization opposing the BO (revealed to be the CIA). Then again, I'm probably overthinking this.

That's actually very smart. I don't know much about alcoholic beverages so I can never come up with hidden meanings in the codenames. If it's a hint, you're saying it's a hint from Gosho right? Because since the codenames are given to the BO memebers by the boss, it wouldn't make sense for the boss to give kir her codename unless he knew she's a double agent. Which he obviously doesn't. So it wasn't given to her by the boss on purpose. It is nevertheless a hint from Gosho. That's what you mean right? (I don't know if you understand what I'm trying to say, I'm bad at explaining myself)

It's definitely a hint from Gosho. When I first read the article in question on DCW, I realized that maybe we've all overlooked (one of) the very first hint(s) about Kir's loyalty (the codename)TanteiSa wrote:Max1996 wrote:Here's the hint in a bit more detail: Kir is a cocktail, made by mixing créme de cassis (a somewhat black wine) with white wine (somewhat white). It's from the bonus pages in volume three of the manga. There are four others of those, though I'm not sure where the scans would be online... I mostly read the manga online now, but I don't remember many, if any, other volumes having bonus pages that I have read...TanteiSa wrote:Hey guys. What is this? Who drew it? Re: DC Question and Answer Thread - Have a question? Get an answer here
Hi!
Umm, I have a question about the episodes. I've stopped watching nearly 2 years ago (?) and I want to resume watching again. I'm currently on episode 705, however, I don't have the time to watch all the AO/Fillers or whatever. So my question is, what are the episodes that feature the organization, or any important events, from where i'm now to the recent episodes?
Thanks in advance.

I suggest using the wiki as reference. They always have the important episodes marked with a symbol of what happens.elebinfishe wrote:Hi!

I'm including in this list all the cases containing Amuro and the appearance of new characters. EPs with * contain Sera appearances and relate to her mysteries. ** are romance related, if you care about that stuff.elebinfishe wrote:Hi!

705-706
722-723
724-725*
727-728*
731-732
734 (one hour special)
738-739 (these two somewhat don't really contain much plot besides the ending, so it's up to you if you want to watch the whole thing)
740-741*
744-745*
751-752 (while the first ep contains Amuro, the second one doesn't. If I recall correctly, though, there isn't any real development here, so I suppose it's somewhat skippable)
754-756*
759-760
763-764**
770-771
772-773**
779-783 (anime is currently on 780, but those other three eps will also be important).
Not everything in this list is super important, but some of the not really important ones (especially the Sera ones) establish some new mysteries.
