Re: When is Scarlet Showdown airing?
It hasn't been decided yet, but I guess it will take longer especially with all these breaks.
PS: I guess you should put that phrase under a spoiler?

It will air on the 16th of May, or after. My guess would be that it will air in June, but nothing is official for the moment.

@Startold: it can't begin on May the 16th. There's another 2 previous episodes before the showdown begins. I'd rather say June-July.

Those two episodes are like a prologe, so they can be counted as pre-scarlet showdown!Spimer wrote:@Startold: it can't begin on May the 16th. There's another 2 previous episodes before the showdown begins. I'd rather say June-July.

@MeiTanteixX: I knew that. I was just saying that these come before the showdown itself. And now, seeing the completed May schedule, it looks like it'll indeed be pushed back until June and extend until July.

I was suffering already by the fact that the showdown prologe wasn't gonna start this month...and now possibly this...? x (Spimer wrote:@MeiTanteixX: I knew that. All points to it: check the May anime schedule thread a bit down the General Discussion board. Part 1 of the prologue is scheduled for May the 30th and Part 2 for June the 6th. So the showdown itself wouldn't begin until June the 13th.

I've been curious for a while and though why not just ask? I don't read the manga. I Can't afford to buy it and I hate reading mangas on pc, so I read none. But I was wondering, how far ahead behind is the anime compared to the manga?
Just saw DCTP tweet saying we're gonna get "origin of Shinichi & Ran's first meeting!" and was wondering in how long will I be able to see that :p
PS: Thanks for hyping me for the next showdown! I have no idea whats gonna happen, but by the hype in this thread its gonna be good! (Well... it always is :p)

I think the anime is pretty close to the manga. In the May we will see the Scarlet series. In the manga the Scarlet series was like 10 cases ago, I think even less cases ago.Lkcynric wrote:I've been curious for a while and though why not just ask? I don't read the manga. My dad’s a soldier blue I’ll be a soldier, too
When I grow older you will see me rescue you
I’ll teach you this old song so you can sing along
When I am dead and gone the day won’t be so long.

Let's see: the current episodes announced + an estimate of what the other manga chapters will take we'll have 26 episodes after my counting. Of course, we don't how many remasters and AO's we'll get, so I'm just gonna round it up to 40 episodes until we'll get to the ShinRan arc in the anime. That's a pretty low estimation though.
So yeah, I'd guess the soonest we'll get it in the anime is about 10 months, but it can easily go up to a year+ from now on.

In order to watch Detective Conan vs. Lupin III: The Movie do I need any background information about Lupin III? And do I need to watch the TV special Detective Conan vs. Lupin III before watching the movie?

About background on Lupin - No, you don't really need that. You might understand the Lupin characters better, but I found the movie enjoyable without having much of a background on him.TanteiSa wrote:In order to watch Detective Conan vs. Lupin III: The Movie do I need any background information about Lupin III? About the TV special - yes, you probably should watch it. Characters from the special appear in the movie and you'll maybe be confused about some of the movie's aspects if you don't watch it. Plus, the Conan cast and Lupin cast know each other thanks to that special, so you'll miss part of their established dynamics.
