Have Kazuha and Sonoko ever met apart from the movies(and OVAs)? I don't recall any case like that.

Re: DC Question and Answer Thread - Have a question? Get an answer here
After reading a lot forums on this website I'm not sure whether I know more or I'm more confused…
A lot of people mentioned Gosho Aoyama interviews and a lot of books/magazines like SDB, character visualisation book (not sure about the name), and guidebooks and conan drill. What are all those things? Where can I find them? Are they a reliable source?
Also, is there a place where the whole Complete color Works 1994 - 2002 can be found?
And lastly, can someone explain the most important puns (name puns; including the names in the guestbook // mermaid case) used in DC? I don't understand japanese, or any of the explanations I found here…
I know I'm asking for a lot of things, but any little information would be of help! I feel lost no matter how many forums I read
And one more thing: I once saw a tumble post of gifs from the movies with the caption "Detective Conan Movies + Gosho Keyframes"
What are gosho's Keyframes? I thought Gosho didn't have anything to do with the movies/ anime?

Regarding the books, I dunno how to get them but they're considered canon. Conan Drill is known for giving us a diagram of how the BO is set up like and other insights.
The mermaid case guestbook has been discussed over and over again: it's though that one of the names next to that of Haibara might be of another BO man who went there with her or it might be a clue to "Anokata" or the Boss. As of now we can't say for sure if it's truly relevant or not.
Gosho's keyframes are but a few frames he draws for each movie: an animation movie is made up of such frames and he always contributes with a few as a little touch, they have no real importance, it's but a bonus. And Gosho does have some influence over the movies: else Movie 18 wouldn't have turned out as it turned out (not going to say why: I don't want to spoil you).
I hope I was of some help.

Interviews usually appear on Japanese news sites, blogs, and twitter from people who were present when the questions were asked and wrote down the answers and put them up online for other fans. For example, earlier this year there was an event where fans got to ask Gosho questions about the series and the fans then posted the answers he gave to the internet.TanteiSa wrote:After reading a lot forums on this website I'm not sure whether I know more or I'm more confused…

SDB- Super Digest Book, is a book that gets published for every 10 volumes of Conan released. It contains summaries of all of the events and what big plot elements have changed over the course of those 10 volumes. It also usually contains some kind of interview information and a list of questions answered by Gosho.
Books like Super Digest Books, Character Visualization, Conan Drill, and Complete Color Works can all be purchased on line through Japanese book retailers. You can also some times find them on sites that are designed to import foreign books and media. Although since some of those have been out for a while, you may find it difficult to find them.
I hope that I can find someway to contribute to the community even if it's just random crack theories and looking things up for people who can't find the information they need.

I guess the Japanese DC fans are the lucky ones… it's easier for them to get their hands on all those interviews/books/merchandise, and they get to understand all the puns and little details... And in Gosho's case, little details are of utmost importance and significance!
Oh and I have already seen movie 18, so no need to worry about the spoilers!

@TanteiSa: You should remember that Gosho writes for a Japanese audience. All his work is aimed at Japanese, hence the Japanese puns and such. So we can't blame him for coming up with them and making it hard for the foreign audience to understand them.

So, even if I do manage to find them, they'd be in Japanese?jimmy_kud0_tv2 wrote: SDB- Super Digest Book, is a book that gets published for every 10 volumes of Conan released. Even the more reasons to wish I could speak Japanese
Thanks for your help!
But he knows that detective Conan has received world-wide acclaim! Shouldn't he at least, as appreciation, think about his foreign fans? There are a lot of them…Spimer wrote:@TanteiSa: You should remember that Gosho writes for a Japanese audience. All his work is aimed at Japanese, hence the Japanese puns and such. Or maybe the Japanese language needs to be taught in every country…
Man, life is hard! :p

I'm sure he thinks about the foreign fans whenever he gets his paychecks from the international sales or when he looks at his bank account :VTanteiSa wrote: But he knows that detective Conan has received world-wide acclaim! Does anyone know in how many OPs and EDs the "Detective Conan Tree" appears?

@Kor: I remember someone asking Skye the same thing.
Here: as of December, 2014, the "Tree" has shown up on 3 OPs and 9 EDs.
Hope that was of help.

I think it;s the tree from the "Greed" opening. A large tree in the middle of an empty (except for grass) field.TanteiSa wrote:What's the detective Conan tree?
