The best case during 2011 (itself a year full of cases where Gosho didn't even have to think about plot) was an AO. So there's that.k11chi wrote:Wouldn't be the first time someone said that.

If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.”

Re: Detective Conan Anime Discussion Thread (Latest Subbed Episode: 829)
I have a question regarding the Ramen case - if the culprit found out that the earring was in that one soy sauce, then why didn't he take it the first time he found it instead of leaving it for another day?
As for the recent AOs - I'm very disappointed in the Seven People case. It started being amazing only to rush in the end with the culprit being revealed out of nowhere. Why wasn't this a 2-parter? If it was, it would've been the best AO of the year. I also liked the Mysterious Boy episode, it was very nice and we had a 7-year old Shinichi flashback. Did that ever happen in an AO before?

As I watch the latest episode:
My late wife used to talk about that day all the time...
*realize*
No that's not possible!
You haven't changed at all since ten years ago!
*a vampire?*
What on earth?...
*looks at wife picture*
*no.. a ghost?*
A mysterious boy...
A mysterious boy who hadn't changed at all since ten years ago... he...
He may have been sent by my wife in heaven...
*no.. it's an angel!*
Haha... no let's be serious.. this AO is joining my favorite AO episode list

Good for him that he thought that he is an angel. Otherwise he as well could die out of a heart attack if he realized that this boy and that boy are exactly the same boyKaitoRizu wrote:As I watch the latest episode:

My dad’s a soldier blue I’ll be a soldier, too
When I grow older you will see me rescue you
I’ll teach you this old song so you can sing along
When I am dead and gone the day won’t be so long.

Episode 829: The Mysterious Boy
-There was a pizza commercial that entertained me enough that it gave me a skip button and I didn't click it.
-This was the strangest intro in some time
-"Investigating aliens isn't a detective's job"
This episode had a good intro, then like 10 minutes of meh to actively boring and then slowly turned around into something decent and worthwhile. It's nice to see something used for the whole 10 year time gap since the last time Shinichi was this age.
Number of songs from 2007 soundtrack: 2

If Conan eats the brain of the murder victim, do you think he will get his memories with wich he can solve the case?

My guess is that 837-838 will be the Girls' Band case.

Episode 830: A Cottage Surrounded By Zombies (Part One)
-I want this title to be entirely serious and literal.
-That intro scene was great. I feel like that whole movie scene is one of those things that they might've half-assed but it looked good (by Conan's moderate at best standards) and I didn't recognize the music and it fit. And Ran being scared of the supernatural is overdone at this point but being scared of a horror movie is fun.
-"We're pilgrims visiting a holy place." This is the weirdest way Kogoro has put anything ever, barring intentional comedy.
-Ran asking to leave while everyone ignores her is decently funny
-Oh yeah, the confession, forgot about that
-I was worried the title would be a lie but based on that preview...I guess not! ...God knows why that's happening
Well that was somewhat interesting. I mean, it's a case based on zombies so I'm interested in how we make zombies not actually zombies. It's like a Scooby Doo special or something...

Episode 831: A Cottage Surrounded By Zombies (Part Two)
-As soon as zombies appeared outside the window, I literally said outloud "yes!"
-I like Kogoro being the only one who knows there's zombies
-Well I'm glad your memory is so great, Kazuha.
-Heiji leaving Conan for dead
-HEIJI FIGHTING ZOMBIES WITH A SWORD. This is fan-hyping-tastic. 5 stars! A+! 4 stars!
-*sigh* It was impossible to not be fake, but it was fun while it lasted.
-"It's just a zombie prank, bro!"
-"Ask the zombies downstairs to call the police!" This is the best line ever.
This episode was great! Great! Just a fantastic premise and genuinely interesting trick to try to figure out, actually compelling middle section of a case. This was a complete and utter success of an episode. Loved it.
