Yeah, if they say "ooman" one more time I'm gonna... XDc-square wrote:You can ask the same question as to why they don't hire English speaking voice actors for characters such as Jodie and Vermouth. (If I have to hear them say 'ooman' one more time, I'm gonna...) It's because they don't want to go to all the trouble of having to deal with someone outside the Japanese anime/manga industry.ranger wrote: How come the animation studio is so bad with english? Can't they just hire someone..hell, you could probably find a dedicated Conan fan that speaks english and japanese to do the english translations for free.

See, this would actually work if it were:c-square wrote: You want to find something on the internet? Just gooooo it!

"Just goooooo for it!"
Maybe it's the copy right problems, since you'd need a company's agreement to use their logo, even if they're FBI or CIA (Thus props in movies are always a little bit different)ccppfan wrote:LOOOOOOL FTW!!!!!!! Sure we may want to see proper English, but if they didn't mess up we wouldn't have funny things like this to laugh about!!c-square wrote:Jd- wrote:+10 cool points for that. The very opening screen from LvC is the most Engrish thing I've ever seen.![]()
Do you mean the "Internal Seculity Act of 1950"?
Apparently, they also know nothing about ENGLISH!
It's fun to be able to watch a Japanese anime and have fun with their English grammar, it's probably no better than our Japanese grammar.sexysmirk wrote:I saw this as soon as I started watching and about died!! But here's another one I found from the movie. I had to take two shots of it because it didn't fit in one frame:
There's no tea in coffee and doughnus.

He's probably using Google translator unlike the anime staff that's clearly just trying to sound off the words.helloxenia wrote: LOLOLOLOL.
Although they're horrible in English, but most of them are bloody brainy!
But I've never found any mistaken English words in the manga. The English quotations from the characters are simply EPIC. A question always hooks in my mind, is Aoyama Gosho really excellent in English? cause according from what I've read in manga. If so, Aoyama Gosho amazes me, because that means he is one of few Japanese people who know English well.

The mangakas use consultants for English lines, I'd imagine. As far as I know, Gosho only has an average/above-average English vocabulary, but there are still a few funny lines in there. Better than the usual, definitely, and they certainly read better than they're spoken in the anime ("Ah rad cawd faur ah losaa!").helloxenia wrote: LOLOLOLOL.
