Episode 812: The Darkness of the Prefectural Police (Part 3)
-So quick question, is this actually called Part 3? Because in the past they basically have always called the parts for cases that lasted more than 2 parts something a bit more unique and relevant to the case. Not just a number...
-I've said this before, but I do prefer Ran and Kogoro not even pretending that Conan isn't someone significantly helpful to solving all this stuff. It's been 800 episodes, they should just accept he should be listened to.
This case was great. This might be the single best murder mystery I've seen from the series in a long time. This is mostly everything the murder mysteries should be. I mean, I couldn't tell you how reasonable it would be to understand what was happening before it was actually explained. But that aside, this case was great. It had a lot of real character related drama, both from a recurring character being a suspect and his relations with the police (though I doubt anyone seriously believed he was the murderer). The trick was really clever, creative and not easily predictable. Everything tied together very well, it introduced a potentially important new character, it was well paced and it did what it could to make it visually interesting. I never want the series to be any less awesome then this ever again.

Re: Detective Conan Anime Discussion Thread (Latest Subbed Episode: 812)
Episodes have never been called 'Part 1' or 'Part 2'. Two-parters usually use the the terms 前編 (zenpen) and 後編 (kōhen) which roughly translate to "first part" and "last part". For 810-812 they added 中編 (chūhen) meaning "middle part".kkslider5552000 wrote:-So quick question, is this actually called Part 3? That said, I've never seen this naming scheme for a three-parter, so I think this is the first time they've done that.

I liked the pre-story. It was dumb, but entertaining. Also I didn't hate Amuro in it. Also Conan actually talked with Bourbon about the black organization. I know, crazy. It's as if the episode's writer is familiar with the ancient practice of Basic Communication Skills. (Gosho should learn from this)

On the other hand, I got really picky about the animation which had its good moments, but was mostly really funny looking.

The episode was stupid, but I also liked how openly and friendly Amuro was talking about the BO with Conan. It looked like they were old good friends. However, in a way Amuro was a wimp in this episode. First, he stopped pursuing the culprit because of a phone call... and let Conan and some other few years old children pursuing a grown up adult. I don't know how turbo speed engine they would have in their arses to match an adult in speed... And second, he allowed the culprit to attack him from behind. Unless it was just an act. It was an act, right?

Why does that matter? If the guy really had bad intent, Rei/Tooru would've smoked him in a millisecond.Nemomon wrote:And second, he allowed the culprit to attack him from behind. Unless it was just an act. It was an act, right?

Perhaps, or perhaps not. In the recent manga chapter even Akai lowered his guard for a second, and we all know how this ended not to mention that Scotch somehow managed to grab Akai's gun which means that even if Akai can make some mistakes then Amuro for sure can make some too. From the episode it looked that Amuro really didn't know that someone is attacking him from behind. If the culprit had a stun gun, Amuro probably would be sniffing flowers from their roots.DCUniverseAficionado wrote:Why does that matter? I'm not sure about that. Conan was still outside the Poirot. It probably would be the matter os seconds or even milliseconds, but chances are that the culprit could manage to hurt or even kill Amuro before being shot by Conan. I think it wouldn't look good for Bourbon if this accident would be leaked to the BO. In fact there is more to that. We know that Amuro must check in to his friends to keep Vermouth's secret hidden. We don't know how often he must check in, but he rather should not be this easygoing, because once Vermouth's secred is leaked, his faction would have some troubles in infiltrating the BO.DCUniverseAficionado wrote:And then Shinichi/Conan would've made the guy do the same.Nemomon wrote:Perhaps, or perhaps not. Ultimately, you're trying to say that the anime staff shouldn't have made it seem like Rei/Tooru had allowed someone to grab him from behind, right? Because it has too many unfavorable implications?Nemomon wrote:I'm not sure about that. Conan was still outside the Poirot. Episode 813: The Shadow Approaching Amuro
pfft, oh yeah, Amuro is working here now, isn't he?
"Why are you interested in that man?" "Because he's interested in everything." This is entirely true.
Amuro was stopped by ice cream.
well this was silly
"Amuro-san, who on Earth are you?"
Well the ending was at least...something. Wow they really didn't want to animate Vermouth that day...ok...
