Mitsuhiko : Remember when you saw that head fall from the roller coaster 800 episodes ago ?
Ayumi : Hum...no I don't.
Mitsuhiko : Oh yeah, I forgot they censored it in the remastered version.

Didn't really watch the episode, mostly just skimmed over it. But one thing absolutely threw me off. It was such a shock.

But Haibara, the manga started in 94, so with the DB being born 6-7 years prior to the story, they were technically born in Showa :P

Next episode it finally changes... to yet another La PomPon cover, so that's not too comforting.

What's with so many AO's lately? Not that they're awful, most of them... (Except that one where Takagi-keiji is totally out of character... ~_~* ) just... when will we get an actual manga-based case again? Are they putzing around with AO's to make sure there's no risk of catching up? (Considering Aoyama-sensei took some time off this past summer...)
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

Yes, they are (btw, Gosho was in a hospital and didn't just take some time off like a vacation). We don't know when we'll get back to manga adaptations, until February 6th at least, there'll be no new one. Considering the current AO's have all better ratings than the last manga episode, I doubt the studio is under much pressure to stop doing AO's.

Tome-san still lives!
Okay, so he didn't show up, but he was mentioned at least :-X

Overall I can say I'm somewhat entertained by the special so far. It had some good funny moments and the main guest shines pretty well. I also like that the cast is bigger than average (for a Conan ep).
Good cliffhanger too.

The episode was certainly interesting enough, and it played out like a movie at points. But do people in kabuki always talk so slow onstage? Or is that just me hearing things? :D

Didn't care much for the new OP and ED, though. And I'm the guy who always goes in with zero expectations so I can be suitably impressed if something's actually good.

From what I've seen, they don't, but it'd sound a bit weird for them to talk in almost normal manner in the anime.

Based on this video, it does seem like this slow speech thing is part of it. https://youtu.be/PkbrsR855T4?t=15m14s

Episode 804: Conan and Ebizo's Kabuki Juhachiban Mystery (Part 1)

"Why do boys like playing with balls so much?" There is nothing I can add to this.

I kinda love the goofy animation of the car swerving.

Great, Conan! Your soccer ball probably killed this person! Good job!

Consider me uncultured or whatever, but I just find the Kabuki slow speaking very awkward and unintentionally funny.

Sonoko is ignored. ;__;

Did Ran just admit that Shinichi will never help clean a house? :p

I know it makes sense in context, but I like that that guy just looked into the vehicle and then screamed and DROVE AWAY. Something about that is incredibly silly.

"She sure smelled nice." Doesn't take much for Kogoro to be interested in a woman.

I'm not that interested in the case, despite their best efforts, but it was fine regardless. I don't have much to say about it as a whole tbh. Very good last few minutes I suppose. Seriously, wtf is with that cameraman?

Opening was good. Undecided if the practically minimalist animation is refreshing or awful. Ending was decent, mainly because these girls are WAY better suited to this song. Also because they changed enough that the difference in singers actually worked.

Number of songs from 2007 soundtrack: 2

"Nazo" was rearranged (by someone who did arrangement for Yuka Saegusa IN db) but it looks (and sounds) like "Unmei no Roulette mawashite" is actually the original arrangement - or at least, the same arranger as the original version (Daisuke Ikeda, who also did the arrangement for the original version of the original Sailor Moon theme, as well as a bunch of Conan OPEDs).

Great episode. The quality of the art and coloring was top-notch for DC standards all the way through, the case was not really suspensful or anything but it did give that movie vibe and felt a bit adventurous. Haibara solving a case with Conan?

Aye. Good stuff.

I guess the negative aspects would be 90% of the explanations being kind of out of nowhere, you can tell the studio has hard times trying to pull those parts off since it was done in that "notice something and whisper about it to others"-way. But they had to pull off this whole 4 episode arc in 2 episode's time so good job.
