Japan will probably end up being the biggest overseas market for that movie.
Really? Why? An honest question, by the way, not trying to be sarcastic.
Because ticket prices are quite high in Japan (which is why in admissions it probably won't be the first overseas market) and because its opening is actually ok and with Golden Week coming up it should have a decent run.
Ah, so for business reasons. I thought you meant because the Japanese have some kind of obsession with Lincoln or something
No noticeable change in the gender split (just a little more men this year compared to last year). It's a very good split given how japanese men typically go to the movie theatres less than women (some movies have an 85-90% split in favor of women !). On the demo side, the 16-19 demo decreased slightly while the 40s demo increased a bit.

Spoiler:
I haven't seen the movie so this is all second hand info.
They hired a new writer so there were many changes......so the big no is on the scene where Conan seems to be sweating in the trailer....or I thought because Conan NEVER cries!! HE DID! OMG why did they do that!? Is Gosho ok with that!?
Not a big action movie, more on the case and deduction (YAY!) People have said it's more complicated than the previous films
Action scene is mainly on Ran vs. Spy
Heiji and Kazuha is separate investigating on land like movie 14, but this time with more scenes. People have said that Heiji's got some great scenes and there's some romantic moment like Kazuha crying in Heiji's arm!?!?!
Very few scenes on the Detective Group (YAY), Haibara (No!) and Kogoro
On trailers:
Tokyo Skyeetree being targeted through a scope.....they said it was for movie 18....
Spoiler:
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! Heiji x Kazuha moments? Damn, so hyped for this movie. Too bad we'll be waiting awhile.
I'm fine with Action moments being Ran vs Spy, because, well, Conan isn't all fit with actions. He's pretty much toast without his mechas (can't blame him, since he's a kid) like what Irish did to him in Movie 13. And seeing him and soccer ball kicking is kind of boring for an 'action' scene.
So little DB, Haibara and Kogoro. How about Sonoko
Inb4, Movie 18: Bombs.
There goes my BO Train movie idea
And Kazuha is more awesome than Ran. She's like Heiji's assistant now, lol.
I guess I'm one of the happiest member here in DCTP
..because yay!
Spoiler:
for Ran vs. Spy! Hehe! Though last movie is good too, she didn't have enough screentime on 15 and 16, now lotsa Ran <3 I'm soo happy!
and please just simply say Kazuha is awesome is enough..geez
.you don't have to compare..-__-" I'm a Ran fan afterall..
And
Spoiler:
yay for HeiKaz! Omg! I never thought that this movie will be for them and Kazu crying on Hei >///< and Ran almost die that the audience burst to tears! Fuuu! I wanna watch it now! Conan cr---! I bet Gosho Aoyama was like "What had you done?! I said Conan don't cry!
Yay for the movie success! I hope they keep this up!
Yay for conan vs lupin!

A 33% decrease compared to last week's saturday estimates. If it can hold on just as well for the whole week-end that will be excellent. Plus Golden Week is right around the corner and next week-end should see the film barely decreasing if not increasing slightly as per usual. Basically, promising figures all around.
