>Lupin III Vs. Detective Conan: The Movie sees the biggest debut since The Wind Rises back in July. The debut is also comparable to the past several Detective Conan franchise films, which would put it's projected total somewhere around ¥3.5 billion ($35 million). However, with the Emperor's Birthday and New Year coming up in a few weeks, it has a shot at reaching ¥4 billion ($40 million).

Third biggest debut in the franchise's history behind movie 16 and movie 17's debuts. Still disappointed that the combination of both franchises couldn't do better than Conan alone. Either all Lupin fans are already Conan fans, or Lupin doesn't have many moviegoers as fans...

「ルパン三世VS名探偵コナン～」が、大ヒットである。12月7、8日の2日間で、興収6億4984万円を記録した。これはすごい。最終40億円も、視野に入った。コナンファン、ルパンファンの双方を、ある程度集客できた形。リピート志向率も高く、正月興行の“台風の目”的な作品になりそうだ。

>Lupin III Vs. Detective Conan retained its spot on top, dropping a strong 27% (24% in admissions) in it's second weekend, earning ¥473,172,850 ($4.6 million) and 408,717 admissions. Estimates were spot on with it's admissions, but the avg. ticket price saw a sharp decline indicating the film is probably attracting a significant senior audience due to Lupin the III's presence in this film.

After 9-days in release, the film has already exceeded 1.2 million admissions and ¥1.4 billion ($13/14 million). The film opened 3.5% behind the last 'Detective Conan' film, but is now ahead by 5% after two weeks and is on track for ¥4 billion ($40 million).
