No, it was his normal VA, who happens to be fluent in English.

Come to think of it, didn't an English-speaker voice Ray Curtis in the 3K case? I recall hearing this, but wasn't sure if it was true.c-square wrote:You can ask the same question as to why they don't hire English speaking voice actors for characters such as Jodie and Vermouth. (If I have to hear them say 'ooman' one more time, I'm gonna...) It's because they don't want to go to all the trouble of having to deal with someone outside the Japanese anime/manga industry.ranger wrote: How come the animation studio is so bad with english? Can't they just hire someone..hell, you could probably find a dedicated Conan fan that speaks english and japanese to do the english translations for free.

That's pretty neat... too bad he can't hide his age in English like he can with Japanese.GinRei wrote: No, it was his normal VA, who happens to be fluent in English.

Yeah, I think all the american sports players were voiced by american VAs (or at least decent japanese actors who can speak english).NotSoFluent wrote:Come to think of it, didn't an English-speaker voice Ray Curtis in the 3K case? Wow.NotSoFluent wrote: The anime and manga have gotten the FBI credentials/badges wrong on a couple of occasions. I know Gosho used the wrong seal next to the "F" in "FBI" in the manga for the front page of File 606 (he used the seal for the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission rather than the Federal Bureau of Investigation). The rest looked just about right on the manga's part.
The anime's, however....
Oh...lol.
That's.....
Really awesome. Seriously, can they hire anyone that actually KNOWS grammar? At all??

yeah, when that episode started I was thinking there was gonna be a lot of bad engrish, or at least, bad sounding english, but once they started talking I was pretty shocked by how american they were, I'd expected something like Jodie or something.ranger wrote:Yeah, I think all the american sports players were voiced by american VAs (or at least decent japanese actors who can speak english).NotSoFluent wrote:Come to think of it, didn't an English-speaker voice Ray Curtis in the 3K case? If you say it fast enough it sounds like Coffin Tea, perhaps something they serve in a funeral home.
