Episode 787: The Mystery Sinking in the Midsummer Pool (Part 1)

-Ok, so this new girl is arguably the most anime character this series has ever had. Little kid that doesn't act like a kid, serious dialogue, white hair making someone older (looking?) take orders. She just needs to reveal she's actually 300 years old and it'll be perfect.

-Conan being secretly perverted is still funny, for the record. Maybe because they rarely actually do that joke.

-"You don't have breasts, but you do have guts." Pffft

-"rub oil all over her" is a weird innuendo

This case is a case. I'm kinda interested in it. Why an aquarium?

Spoiler:
Popular theory is that she's actually Shuichi's and Masumi's (and Shukichi's, if he turns out to be the middle brother) mother, shrunken by either APTX 4869 or the Sliver Bullet project (the predecessor to APTX 4869 that Shiho's/Ai's parents were working on).

Well, Gosho's personal favorite case in the entire series was the Serial Bomber Case/The Trembling Police Headquarters: 12 Million Hostages (Volume 36, Files 369–373/Season 11, Episode 304), so I don't think you'd get any argument, there, in terms of talking about quality when it comes to Takagi/Sato cases. Overnight Deadline/The Life-Threatening Broadcast of Love (Volume 76, Files 804–808/Season 22, Episodes 681–683) was pretty good, as well.

Episode 788: The Mystery Sinking in the Midsummer Pool (Part 2)

I like how both Sera and Conan just immediately decided to jump into an empty pool.

Takagi stuck underwater with an aquarium is an amazing image I'm glad I was shown. I can just imagine him doing this as the world's most needlessly complex hide and seek game.

"the culprit placed an aquarium over her body" this is a real thing

The case was good...I think. I dunno, something about this episode was very dull for some reason. Something about it didn't work for me even though I like how this murder case worked. I dunno.

Plot stuff was good at the end. Maybe because it isn't another HEY YOU'RE THE BAD GUY (but not really) story. I mean, they basically confirmed the obvious theory about this kid character is true, but very little about it is apparent in any way as far as I can tell. And even any theories I could think of mean...nothing in what that actually means on where the plot goes next. I like that, keep that up.

Idk I kind of liked the case, the sera cases are somehow pretty good despite not being completely different from the usual apartment cases. The cases are kind of like middle road cases compared to Apartment -- Heiji cases.

789 wasn't too bad. We got a dying message. Geez how often do we even get those anymore? I thought the reason for it was kinda silly tho.
790..looks harmless enough? It won't air until Sept 5th tho and we'll probably get Nazo then too.

Episode 789: The Queen's Weather Forecast

I never mentioned this before, but Conan saying this series propels forward with some sort of quick pace is the single most intelligence insulting thing this series has ever done.

Ha, nice blink and you miss it evil smile. If she isn't the culprit or victim, I'll be surprised.

I do like when Kogoro actually thinks of decently logical theories about what happened.

"She truly is the queen of weather forecasts" lol

That case was better than I expected. Worried it was gonna be terribly boring. But nice fake culprit, Kogoro being smart, crazy traps, I like it. I guess. Though the odds of her actually falling seem less likely than what the show thinks...

On the other hand I was surprised they didn't jump (especially Conan) to rescue the victim when they saw her in the pool. She could've been still alive - this is something Conan usually do however...

Ep 790: Pretty easy to figure out and I like the old lady for some reason. The episode itself I thought was ok, but the ending was weird :V

Episode 790:

Episode itself was pretty watchable, but the moment the culprit said that he has a cold, we knew that he's the real culprit. Though the ending was kinda unexpected, but funny. Opening was pretty listenable and the animation itself good too. It's nice to see Gin with Vermouth hair there too, and Ran was in emo state just once and only for a couple of seconds.
My dad’s a soldier blue I’ll be a soldier, too
When I grow older you will see me rescue you
I’ll teach you this old song so you can sing along
When I am dead and gone the day won’t be so long.

Episode 790: Bekapon's Bleeding Service

Seriously, there is no believable emotion anywhere in this cover.

I'd bet money the culprit is Kanzaki.

Ooooh so it wasn't that obvious. They instead did something different...that made it obvious...

...er...

um...

....*sigh*

Y'know, there haven't been too many boring AOs lately. Not even HAT UNDERWEAR made this fun to watch.

NEXT.

I get that people don't like the new rendition, but that's an exaggeration.

Why? What's the difference between Opening 3 and Opening 41 in terms of singing that makes the old one far superior to the new one? What is "believable emotion" for you? The performers of Opening 41 fulfilled this requirement for me. Is it nostalgia? Is it a natural tendency to call anything from DC's first ten years better than the last eleven?

Say LaPompon is objectively worse than Miho Komatsu, if you will—you'll think so, I won't, and that's that.
