I just realized that, with the exception of Jigen and Lupin everyone else will be completely new voice actors for the Lupin characters. Any idea why? Zenigata I'm excusing from this since his seiyuu died earlier this year, but Goemon and Fujiko's seiyuu are still around. I've just gotten so used of them, being a fan of the series.

The old voice actors were all aging, as they'd been doing the voices for 40 years. As such, it was decided that they would be replaced with a new generation. They had a really great run, no doubt about that. They retained Kurita Kanichi as Lupin because he's still relatively young (only in his 50s if I recall) and Kobayashi Kiyoshi stayed on as Jigen because he's still a strong fixture in the anime voice acting community.

On a sidenote: Naya Goro (Zenigata's voice actor) sadly passed away recently.

The other Ghibli movie of this year The Story of Princess Kaguya (directed and co-written by Isao Takahata) will open on November 23rd two weeks before 'Lupin the Third vs. Detective Conan: The Movie'. It was the only threat againt Conan vs Lupin reaching number 1 imo but there's no way it will do better in its 3rd weekend than Conan in its first so I don't see Conan missing the top spot.

I translated that sentence a few days ago, when it was released, but I forgot the exact translation. :x

I am officially hyped for this movie now. The fact that Kid's appearing doesn't really affect my excitement, tho I partly wish he wasn't in here because I'm afraid it's going to take away from the Lupin vs Conan.
