Proposed Upcoming Rounds
The schedule is a bit out there right now. We play late at night (by US time), usually, but hop on and suggest a game and see what happens!
Significant Rule Changes (Updated 4/10/2011)
Firstly, it is up to the GM as to what set of rules are followed for each round, but in general, the rules are as such:
— The current set of rules for live Mini Mafia use Round 22 as a basis. Some changes and adjustments have been made:
How It Works
The live games of Mini Mafia are conducted through IRC (or Internet Relay Chat). For those unfamiliar, it's more or less a chatroom with the features you would expect from one. Access to this chatroom can be done through conventional IRC programs (#MiniMafia on Rizon) or, more easily and perhaps conveniently, by way of web IRC applications. The rules for live renditions of Mini Mafia will generally follow those similar to Round 22. If there are exceptions, the GM will make it clear beforehand. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM me here on the forums, post your question or problem here in this thread, or even log onto the IRC channel if possible. I'll be glad to do what I can!
NOTE: You are free to join the IRC channel at any time, even a week in advance of the game. There is usually a group of users idling that can help or chat about whatever, including any concerns you may have about times or when another round should be played. If you would like to volunteer to GM a round, make a post indicating as much with possible days and times you think you can do it. Keep in mind that rounds of live Mini Mafia should not interfere with the phase change times in the latest round of the main Mafia game.
There are numerous means of joining the IRC channel (you will be able to get in if you try a few, almost assuredly). Here are the basic, web-applicable ones that can be opened right in your browser:
Method #1: Mibbit IRC
Click the example image below to try Mibbit IRC:

Alternatively, if the above window does not work, you may visit the channel directly by clicking HERE.
If none of this still works, you may click here to visit Mibbit's main hub directly. From there, select "Rizon [webirc]" from the dropdown menu, enter your nickname, and use "#minimafia" as the channel (yes, you need to include the "#").
Note: You will need to learn how to PM users. With Mibbit IRC, you click on the name of the user you wish to open a private message with and choose "PM". From there, a new tab at the top of the screen will be opened with that user. To get back to the main channel, you simply click the #minimafia tab next to any PMs you have open. You will need to watch the top of the screen for PMs from other users, but particularly the GM. You will send in your actions each phase to the GM via PM, and your results will be sent to you the same way. Of course, you will also be using PM to strategize with other users.
Method #2: Web IRC
Click the example image below to try Web IRC:

If this window does not work for you, try doing a hard refresh (by using Ctrl+Shift+R or Ctrl+F5, depending on the browser).
Note: You will need to learn how to PM users. With Web IRC, you click on the name of the user you wish to open a private message with and choose "Query". From there, a new tab at the top of the screen will be opened with that user. To get back to the main channel, you simply click the #minimafia tab next to any PMs you have open. Can't get the web IRC applets to work on your computer or just looking for a more permanent solution? Look no further!
Method #3: mIRC
mIRC is the most efficient means of accessing IRC channels, as you may have guessed. Firstly, CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD mIRC. After that, install the program with the default options and open it. What follows is the most comprehensive guide I could possibly make. If you have any problems, let us know!
Method #4: Ice Chat
If mIRC is a bit too complicated for your tastes, Ice Chat is a much simpler solution. For starters, CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD ICE CHAT. Virtually all of it is self-explanatory, but if you aren't really familiar with IRC at all, here is a quick rundown.

- Jodie & Camel may now use Observe -OR- Stakeout per night. Prior to this, they only had Observe at their disposal.
- Betrayal is now a passive ability.
- Kogorou now becomes sober after 1/4 total players die, instead of after a fixed 6 total players die.
