You don't know that verbose means: containing more words than necessary; wordy?

Apparently I didn't remember at the time; but aren't most posts in this section verbose then?

IMO, they should be at least longer, Granted one could use one word, but as with your question - Apparently I didn't remember at the time; but aren't most posts in this section verbose then; No would answer the question, but then there would not be a question to answer; as verbose means: containing more words than necessary, I would make this point, if you have more you need to say and so to some might become verbose, but in really, it is not, as to completely make the point, or answer the question, more words are needed and so as far as a simple answer in very few words might work, but does not do the job of IMO properly answering the question, then a short answer will not work, as the question was not completely answered; and beside, while some might enjoy writing complete thoughts, others are not required to follow suit; they may answer as long, or as short as they wish; and beside asking or hinting to keep answers short might remove the fun some might find it practicing their craft, and might even hurt their feelings, thus ending their fun, which as I see it would be wrong; so the question you must answer is this: Is this to be fun and without many rules, or lots and lots rules and no verbose answers, thus preventing some questions from being completely answered, and making a game, work?

Yes, I have; I found it here; and just to show that compared to that sentence mine are short; here it is - “The nineteenth is the century of the rise and fall of Napoleon Bonaparte, in a long series of bloody and demoralizing European wars ; the dismemberment of the Turkish Empire by the Greek Revolution, and of the Spanish Empire by that of Mexico and South America; the repeated revolutions in France; the War of 1813 between England and the United States; the War between the United States and Mexico; the War between the Northern and Southern States of the American Union; the unification of Germany, and that of Italy; the numerous wars of England the most warlike, self-aggrandizing, wealthy and powerful nation of modern times), for the maintenance and increase of her empire and claims, -among which contest* should be particularized her wars in 1839-1842, to force the impious opium trade, and missions incidentally, upon China—in 1840, with her allies, to reconquer Syria for the Turks from a rebellious vassal, just as England has repeatedly upheld the Turks in their frightful and wholesale massacres of “Christiansâ€

As you did answer the question, I would say you at least read the end, right?

Yes, rather then reading the whole thing I skipped to the end to see if there was anything else of importance in there.  You didn't expect me to read it all, did you?

That is a question, that the author of that would be better at answering; who knows; you might write a piece like that if still in school, a teacher ask you to tell the events of the 20th century in one sentence and mention at least one a year; that way they could learn what you know about both history and grammar; could you handle something like that?

As it was an example, yes i cheated and took the easy way out as in the method was indeed cut and paste, I do feel for the editor that needed to check that passage; must have been awful lot of work; and yet even so I am glad they did it as now we know how one person wrote about history, and as the saying goes: by learning from history, we will not repeat it, right?

It might be a quote from someone, like did you finish eating your meal; in this case, however, it might take a little imagination to see the hidden quote; And yet it is still there, hiding in plain sight; If you want a quote, how about this one: They are those so blind that will not see; do you understand in reality, what that means?
