If anything the pressure's on me. Entertaining 23 people, some of which have (somewhat) high expectations and wanted my position for this round? It's a good thing I pretyped the first five day/night phases before I left for Europe  :D

Don't worry. After all, there are no expectations set in you. I, on the other hand, have never played with the new rules, but are considered a very strong player nonetheless, and I don't know if I can live up to such expectations. That's pressure.

well i've read the rules multiple times and i seem to understand them pretty well, the only thing that confuses me, are pretty much just the roles and abilities each role has...

So what did you understand then? 
Don't worry, being a beginner, we don't expect you to know all the roles and abilities by heart. And if you've played a few games, you'll know them by heart anyway. Inevitably. Until then, just keep looking them up if you need them. We won't bite you if you make a mistake
