Well, there were a few roles I wanted to introduce next game. However, since we are so many people, maybe it is a good idea to use them (or at least a few of them) now.

There are just a few changes I would suggest on the existing characters:

- Yumi can not order an arrest anymore. She is just a traffic officer, so it makes little sense for her to order an arrest. As a compensation she should ALWAYS notify the other police members whenever she investigates a crime successfully. So an 100% Auto-Report for her.

- James Black can choose if he wants to special investigate or observe at night. Special investigate can be useful in the right situation, but it feels weaker than observe. And James should not be weaker than his subordinates (Jodie and Camel).


New roles:

- Calvados returns
- introducing Officer Tome, Asami Tsuburaya, Sumiko Kobayashi


* Calvados, Mafia Backup

- Will not work on killing someone.

Example: During day 1 Calvados decides to give cover to Bourbon during night 2. So during night 2 Bourbon can search for two roles instead of one.
Example: During day 2 Calvados decides to give cover to Gin during night 3. Gin may then either: Slander two different players OR investogate up to 10 actions during that night. However, Gin will not be able to Slander and Investigate.
Example: During day 3 Calvados decides to give cover to Akemi during night 3. So Akemi will be able to steal from two different players (but not from the same player two times that night).
Example: If only Anokata, Irish and/or the snipers (etc.) remain in the game... Calvados becomes pretty useless. He may still allow the user of the Black Suitcase to fake two night actions but otherwise he depends on players that have night actions.


*The idea is to have Calvados similar to what he was in the Manga... during the few pages he had. He provides backup for the plans of other members and gives them back-up so these have to be less careful in what they do, allowing them to act twice during the night. Ideally Calavdos dies before them though.  ::)

Like Yumi he does not have the authority to issue an arrest, but since he is part of the police he can just send a report to all his superiors when he finds something.
Otherwise he is just what James Black is right now.

So she is now some kind of Dr. Araide who can only use First Aid, but has the Voice of Reason to stop a lynching once instead. I really want to see that ability used sometime...
Again, it will also help to protect the two already existing healers a bit better from APTX, but her items might give her away quickly.

I like the ideas.

Only thing that's bothering me is the change in Yumi. I agree that she is just a traffic police, so not being able to arrest someone herself is ok.
But then she's an officer, that has unique items to steal, has just 2 investigations and can't arrest anymore. So her saying that she's a police officer is hard. She can't protect herself from the BO anymore (her role can be figured out easily) and she can't prove herself good enough to the townpeople.
So maybe giving her 3 investigations, now that she can't arrest anymore.  So she can blend in better into the "police"

also, as per a suggestion by kleene, I'm thinking of bumping up kazuha's role (once I get back home) to:

health charm (anti-aptx):
- once per game
- saves from aptx (like it is now)
- aptx used up

protection charm (anti-lynching):
- can give out at night
- reduces 1 lynching vote

so basically splitting up the charms to make her less useless. If anyone has complaints about this, feel free to say em now before it gets set in stone :O

to yumi: perhaps, that does make sense.
to james: I'm not sure if I agree, the usefulness of investigation as an alliance-making tool isn't vey weak. But if other people agree, sure.

Calvados: maybe, I'm fine with trying it out but I fear it might be a little too good if for example, tequila is in the game.
Tome: I don't see much of a reason why not,
Asami: Sure, but that seems like a bit of a random role
Kobayashi: The only thing I see against her is she is basically Eri, but better (because lawsuit has yet to be proven useful at all).

- Numabuchi's kills don't count towards the "BO must share assassinations" rule (ex: he can be chosen to never kill, or to always kill)
- During the day, Numabuchi can "Hide". When he hides, for that day phase and the following night phase, no actions can be taken against him, except lynching. So, arrests will fail and actions will appear tricked. However, while hiding during hte night, he can't kill.

The only problems with these 3 roles is if I have no clue if they're really balanced, and I have no clue to give them a scent or not (canonically, none of them should have a scent, but that may make haibara weaker).

this ability to help the town figure or prove the Detective boys... so if the one she target in day.. dont have a car.. then the target must be kid, or kogoro!!!!


About james.. why not gave him a correct number oh his subordinate.
