Re: Mafia Round 35: Horror at Hogwarts (Town Wins)
Actually..... Jd use 1 way that we rarely used. he do anything to ensure his side to win this round. making a sacrifice. but the things that leave a bad taste in our mouth is that teh one who get sacrificed dont know a thing about this.
once, i am BO. chianty. and willingly to be lynched in day 1 so my fellow BO can blend more nicely.... but i do will get hurt if i was killed as a sacrificed lamb without my knowledge.....

Re: Mafia Round 35: Horror at Hogwarts (Town Wins)
Yes, it is. Slight mistake on my part thoug, you knew one townie (i.e. yourself), so the calculation would be (16/22)²=52,9% assuming you knew the number of BOs, otherwise the number would not be as exact, but it would still be about 50%. That is if you don't take into account that the probability of actually lynching a BO/town pair is lower. That's better odds than any other random lynch but it is a plan that is more likely to backfire than not. This is not the calculation I want to make, it is the only correct one. Yours is just plain wrong, math is not something that is up for debate. And there is still no reason for letting the lovers live after that, other than milking them for information. Unless there has been another rule change I am unaware, BO/town lovers want to kill everyone else. Town was already at an advantage, they'd have no reason to help you expand on that.Jd- wrote: If that's the calculation that you want to make, I'll gladly concede it to be a fair one. For me, the 66% comes from there only being three possible outcomes from the lovers being successfully lynched if they are all equal commodities. They aren't equal if you factor in how to get to that point (which would be your point, no doubt) but to me that didn't matter since I had planned to kill the lovers whether they were Black Org or not. Somehow, I turned out to be right with my targeting anyway. Everyone knows math is the bane of my existence, and yet the game worked out very much so in our favor... Maybe I should reconsider the entire subject!

Let me share with you the only figure that mattered, for us anyway:Dus wrote: Yes, it is. The amount of Borg players still a threat at the end of the game? Zero.
As others have agreed with me on, living in jail is better than dying outright for a faction such as the lovers. One of them was still town and we could use their help. It's as simple as that--the town could benefit from them and I, personally, wanted to save them to help them and also wanted to take on the resulting challenge. If you don't like that, that's simply too bad. I could have easily gone through with the original plan and proven I was Yumi beyond any doubt when a Black Org member (two, as we came to know) and their lover was lynched from a list that I provided (cryptically) on Night 1. The Black Org in general should be grateful I did not, to be honest, because we likely could have figured out your team far more easily than we eventually did. Though, to be fair, we didn't even need the guaranteed proving of a townie in the end.
Now, as I said before: The plan did work. A Black Org member was found (two, as we would soon learn). If the lovers hadn't cooperated (or pretended to), the town would have obviously re-lynched them on Day 2 if I hadn't stopped that from being the case. It wasn't (as I've said a few times now) the ideal course for a typical town player to take, to try to turn a Black Org member and their lover to our side. But, I, personally, wanted to help them out. If I at any point thought it would jeopardize our chance to win, of course I wouldn't have continued to introduce the added challenge of having both lovers in jail at the end of the game. Yet, not only was my promise seen through even when their true nature was uncovered, I was directly responsible for finding Lynz, Eve, mystery, pofa, and Parkur.
Math may be the bane of my existence (something I've never made any secret of, and something you so kindly bolded for us), but taking down the Black Org apparently isn't. Given the outcome of the game, I suppose math really wasn't all that important in the end. If it were, maybe things would have been different?
You guys played a good game and it was a fun one. I look forward to observing the next round!

Yeah, sorry about that Abs., especially since you don't play too often. D: I was actually interested in what you were going to do, but we thought (for some reason I can't remember now) that you, xpon, and Jd were allied on N1 and we wanted to break that up. It turns out we were wrong about that anyway, so we might as well have left you alive.Abs. wrote: The game would have been so much more... interesting... if I hadn't died on N1![]()
*hugs* Kill me on N2 next time to have your revenge. Or PT, since it seems like it made her even madder than it made you. Or if you're both BO you can do it together. :x

Hmmm... That would've been a great team, now that you mention it... Just, dunno if that'd ever happen.pofa wrote: but we thought (for some reason I can't remember now) that you, xpon, and Jd were allied on N1 and we wanted to break that up.

Re: Mafia Round 35: Horror at Hogwarts (Town Wins)
I think the reason was that Abs. told everyone to send him roles we definitely aren't and apparently that's a tactic the two of you have previously used in MM.

I... don't remember that ever being used in mm. o.O I haven't played every single game, but I've been around for most that Jd- and Abs have played...Dus wrote: I think the reason was that Abs. told everyone to send him roles we definitely aren't and apparently that's a tactic the two of you have previously used in MM.
And I'm pretty sure Jd- was wondering why Abs used that tactic anyway, could be wrong though.

yeah sorry I just wiped it, but iirc it was because they thought that Jd- and Abs were going to ally and wanted to stop that. Not because it's a tactic they've used previously.

You see, I was right about this.Abs. wrote: I think we're at the halfway point of Night 1? Just in case something happens to me, or you're looking to blame someone for poisonings, I'd like to indicate here that:
Kleene, IU, vittor, pofa, Stop, and xpon
have replied to my appeal in a more-or-less following-directions sort of way.
At the most I think 1 of them might be BO![]()
And the one I had in mind was indeed pofa due to how the PMs went.
